Albert Johnson, Director of Compensation at Elite Financial Services, has some strategic decisions to make in an effort to decrease the costs of their current employer-sponsored health insurance plan. The company has not done much in the past to control the costs of healthcare, so employees are used to certain perks such as only paying 10% of the total costs of the health insurance premium, and low deductible and co-insurance expenses. Making changes to current benefits may be somewhat unsettling to employees, but there are times when it is necessary in order to drive costs down. Albert Johnson must find the proper balance between transferring some of the premium costs to the employees, and setting up wellness incentives to drive claim experience …show more content…
The premiums for high deductible plans are much lower and in turn the employee could save the money they are saving in the premiums into a Health Savings account for their deductible expenses. According to Investopedia “A Health Savings Account (HSA) is like a personal savings account, but the money is used only for qualified healthcare expenses…To be eligible for an HSA, you must be enrolled in a special health insurance plan called a High-Deductible Health Plan, or HDHP. While these plans have high deductibles, monthly premiums are typically much less than for plans with lower deductibles, which makes them appealing to people trying to minimize up-front costs associated with healthcare” (Folger, 2014). The company I work for used this strategy once to offset their health insurance costs. Although initially we received some pushback from the employees, eventually they got used to the plan, and they were happy to have the safety net of being able to transfer their leftover HSA balances to the following year, because opposite of a health savings account, a flexible spending account has a use it within the plan year or lose it policy. When implementing a high-deductible plan, you have to keep in mind the maximum employee out-of-pocket expenses allowed under the affordable care act. If managed appropriately, a high deductible plan might be a good way to offset
Pedophile Pastor Gets Life Times Seven It 's not every day that we hear about prison sentences are rejoice, especially when it 's a pastor being thrown in the tank. When the pastor has been a molester, however, it 's good to hear that justice still exists, even if it is a little late coming. PimpPreacher.com has featured articles on a pastor from Tulsa, Oklahoma, who said he was in love with a 14-year old and was arrested, (twice!) for molesting her and getting her pregnant.

In the BIG 10 conference Commissioner James Delaney occupation is to manage the media contracts, from which the members of its conference reap a substantial percentage of revenue to pay for its athletic programs. James Delaney was one of the prominent individuals in television marketing, and the Division 1 subdivision college football playoffs. Delaney has a keen interest in generating money for athletic programs, and considered the stakeholders that were affected by his media contracts. Delaney stated, “There’s no enthusiasm for funding these programs by central administration’s so were basically on our own…I’ve found it much easier to generate revenue than to cut cost. I’m being honest with you” (Sandomir, 2006, p. 8-8; Thomas, 2009,
In September of 1961, a woman from District of Columbia had an intruder break into her apartment. While the invader of the home was there, they had taken her wallet, and also raped the woman. During the investigation of the crime, the police had found some latent fingerprints in the apartment. The police then established and processed the prints. The prints were then connected back to 16 year old Morris A. Kent.
On June 25, 2012, the Supreme court ruled that juveniles who committed murder could not be sentenced for to life in prison. Their reasoning was that it violated the 8th Amendment, that stated the ban of cruel and unusual punishment. However, that is not the only reason to have juveniles not be sentenced for life. I agree with the supreme court’s decision because juveniles who commit crime can be coming from an unhealthy background, their brain is not fully developed, and their characters are still in formation. Greg Ousley murdered his parents on February 27, 1993 with a rifle gun that he was found in his house.

The United States Supreme Court has made many controversial rulings throughout the many years since it was established. These cases have been decided by a very close vote. Each one shaping the structure and jurisdictions of the government. Some strengthened the powers of government and some gave more rights to the individual. They will forever effect and influence the future of America.
In order to help insure all these millions of people there are new taxes mostly on the high earners who would be heavily taxed in order for the plan to be effective. In order to get exemptions you’ll need to submit a form. One of the cons is that some insurers have narrowed their network. This means there are fewer healthcare providers. While smaller reduce prices overall it leaves consumers with few options to choose from.
People that are at the poverty line can’t afford to pay such high monthly premiums and as a result decline coverage as a choice. We also see the economic concept of self-interest within the article. Often times an imbalance in the health market is created when the younger generation who is usually health doesn’t feel the need to have health coverage. For young folks it is in their self-interest to pay out of pocket only a few times if needed rather than pay monthly premiums. In the end they’ll pay less than they would for having health insurance.
Yes we can, we are of a few who don’t. The cost of healthcare has been driven up so high that no one can afford it. My employers in Illinois is now insuring only the employee under the benefit plan and the spouse must use their employer, this can equate to much higher cost and employee dissatisfaction. I also see many people who bought plans from the marketplace applying for Medicaid as a supplement because with a high deductible of $15,000 they didn’t realize that they would continue to pay until the deductible amount is met.
In Miller v. Alabama, the United States Supreme Court declared that mandatory juvenile life without parole sentencing schemes violated the Eighth Amendment’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment (Rhodes, 2012). This all stems from a night back in 2003, when Evan Miller, Colby Smith and their neighbor Cole Cannon got into a fight at some point during the day. Evan Miller was 14 years of age at the time and Colby Smith was 16 years of age at the time. Later on that evening, Evan Miller and Colby Smith robbed Cole Cannon of $350 and stole his baseball card collection.

DNA evidence and fingerprints found on Lego blocks has helped solve a murder case that is over two decades old, reports KSL-TV. Lucille Johnson, who was 78, was found dead by her daughter in her suburban Salt Lake City home in February of 1991. She had been brutally beaten and strangled, according to court records. She was a widow and live alone. Among other evidence recovered from the crime scene, were Lego blocks scattered throughout Johnson’s home.
You made a valid point high deductible plans do determine how individuals utilize healthcare services. A person who has financial difficulties will opt not to seek medical attention due to the cost. Would you choose not to get care if you had a high deductible plan? At times I prefer not to go the doctor because not only will I have to pay for the visit but also lab work and testing. Even after reaching my deductible I am still responsible for 20% of the cost until I reach the maximum out of pocket expense.
We are presently going through some changes within the company and will be requiring a significant increase in employee financial contribution to help offset health insurance costs. This change is necessary to help the company continue to grow its revenue and with the increasing costs of health insurance it is essential for the employees to take on some of the burden.
