In the period 400-14450 Afro-Eurasia was home to the rise and fall of numerous empires. These interactions between people of different empires helped to encourage urban development. The process of decline and reconstruction in empires led to change in urban development by creating learning and religious centers and also by creating centers of trade within reconstructed empires, the trading centers most affected urban development. Between 400-1450 CE the process of decline and reconstruction of empires led to changes in urban development by creating religious and learning centers within empires.
Culture is a dynamic area of social activity
Every day we use our culture. Whether it be to argue claims, express opinions, or make decisions, culture plays a part in each area. Culture is who we are, one’s identity, its extent is enormous over our views and actions. A person grows up surrounded with culture at a young age. This can affect how they learn and what they learn.
Hungary is a Central European nation, bordered by Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Austria. The capital and largest city of Hungary is Budapest. Through doing a lot of research on Hungary and the many different maps and sorts of information that I had found on this country through worldfactbook.com and other sources, I found a lot of things about Hungary that I thought to be interesting or unique in some way. For example, Hungary is a landlocked region that is located in Central Europe. Before doing this assignment I never knew what "landlocked" meant but now that I do that is something that I found to be interesting.
After looking at my own criteria, the categories, and the infographics, I have determined that Venice was the greatest city. My original criteria stated that a great community is safe. As stated in the inforgraphic itself, Venice is a city that "used its powerful navy and strategic alliances to protect it". This can lead one to see that the city itself was generally protected from any sort of warfare, thus making it a safe city to live in.
Serbia is the area I choose to review for this project. Belgrade is the capital city of Serbia, a country situated in the Eastern part of Europe and also part of the countries situated on the Balkan Peninsula and thus part of the countries that form the group called the Balkans. Serbia is an isolated country when it comes to bordering seas, instead it borders a lot of countries: Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Hungary. The absolute location is 44° 48' N, 20° 27' E.
Before Srebrenica massacre, the town was mainly consist of Muslim Bosniaks. With the killing of thousands -whether men, women or children- it became a territory of Bosnian Serbs. (Gaudet, 2008) According to Bosnian Institute (2010), ' ' In 1992, Bosniak
After the sovereign of Yugoslavia disappeared each country began looking for security, independence and control over its own population dispersed all over the Balkan Peninsula based on nationality, religion or culture. The oral history carried by representatives of each nation had different versions of their interactions between one another in the past, especially on the issues of the resistance to Turks, the Ustasha in the 30s and the tensions during the World War II, like those between Ustasha and Chetnicks. It was based on a dualistic perspective and used to fuel national antagonisms after the “Brotherhood and Unity” slogan was no more applicable. The region of Central Podrinje was of great strategic importance for the formation of a new political entity called Republika Srpska. Its armies forcefully removed or murdered unwanted Bosnian populations off of the territories they seized control of.
In my second semester of Cultural Geography I think I have been doing way better then my first semester,I think this because in the first semester I didn't do my work at all like literally at all, because I have cultural geography in 1st period so either in the morning I would be tired or I will be exhausted.because It will be the last period of the day on Thursday's or Friday's,and also the teacher will put us in groups, and I didn't used to like nobody from my first period class, and talk to them so when we would work in group work I would refuse not to do it,sometimes it will be to hard, and because I wouldn't talk to nobody so I will just sit there like I wouldn't care. For my second semester of English 9 I think I am actually doing a little better then the last semester,I used to think English really didn't affect your grade until they told me,I did used to do my work but I didn't used to put that much work,I just think that English is really boring. In my second semester of Algebra A I am doing way more badder than my
Venice The beautiful city-state of Venice has many famous canals and architecture. He writes “Indeed, the transition from communism to democracy in Eastern Europe is marked by a direct use of nationalism as the source of the political legitimacy of regimes, … And if nationalism is the technology of rule in a society dominated by politics, … it is obvious that in such societies it is easy to produce … conflicts on a long-term basis” (Antonic, 478). The article points to the idea that when the ability of the elites to maintain control of the state through its institutions breaks down, nationalism becomes the tool of choice to hold on to power, not just in Yugoslavia but regionally. The severe gridlock that plagued the republics made even having a discussion about something as fundamental as the constitutional underpinnings and relationships in the state almost impossible to have, breaking down institutions, encouraging nationalism, and leaving behind a situation ripe for
