In Redshirt your character has the dubious honor of being transferred to the Megalodon-9 space station near the resort planet Venlith. Starting out as a transporter accident cleanup technician which is basically a glorified space janitor, you have to work, smooch, cheat, manipulate or bribe your way into a position of importance. Fail to do so and you along with the 2000 other new recruits will discover firsthand why senior personal appear to be fleeing the station like rats from a sinking ship. Although I am more of a Star Wars than Star Trek fan I know what a redshirt is and I am sure most science fiction fans do as well. Redshirts are basically cannon fodder with very short life expectancies and this game is no exception. While you have 160 days to find a way to distance yourself from the station you more immediate concerns are just surviving. Illness and depression is very common aboard the station and with the ever present danger of being selected for a random away mission which is usually a death sentence for redshirts there is a lot to worry about. The game opens with you having to create a mandatory Spacebook profile for your character. You can select your race and appearance before …show more content…
Unless you want to scrape dead co-workers off the teleporter room floor as a permanent profession you need to work on building up your skills. Oh and in case that last sentence has you concerned, Redshirt contains no graphical violence of any kind despite how distasteful some of the jobs may sound. Applying for a hazardous alien waste management supervisor for example requires some medical knowledge, people management, tedious paperwork and humorously enough a reassuring voice. These are all skills that can be picked up by going to certain events but apart from the time wasted doing so they can also detract from other statistics such as your money, health and
The student can get an associates in arts degree, associates in science degree, Associate in Engineering Degree, Associate in Fine Arts Degree in Music, Associate in Fine Arts Degree in Theatre, Associate in Fine Arts Degree in Visual Arts. If the applicant knows about places of employment, Education/degree, training, and the career itself, they will most likely be hired.
Adelbert Ames, Letter from the Republican Governor of Mississippi (1875) Adelbert Ames, an Idealist, Union war hero, and Medal of Honor recipient stayed in the South after the Civil War to aid in the region’s Reconstruction. Ames discovered white resistance to Republican rule, first as a senator, then as the governor of Mississippi. On September 5, 1875, Ames wrote a terrifying letter to his wife Blanche to express despair over what was going on. His letter tells a story of fifteen colored men, women, and children. He recounts how while the group was barbecuing in Clinton, white men fired into the crowd killing two women and two children.
In Frederik Pohl and C.M. Kornbluth’s The Space Merchants advertising companies have close to unlimited power in the media and in government, and the company that Courtenay works for Fowler Schocken one of the largest advertising agencies in New York City. Courtenay is one of the top men at Fowler Schocken at the beginning of the novel and because of this only sees people as a tool for making money as evident through selling, “liquor and hangover remedies both” (Kornbluth 39). This is one of the more tame examples of how Courtenay views people. He fully believes that there is no higher calling than advertising and will do anything to get his product sold. Because of overpopulation natural recourses are very scares therefore advertising companies
I feel as though my countless hours of binge-watching science fiction TV shows has finally paid off. I am now in the position to create a team instead of cringe at the groups that do not act as a team and are unsuccessful in the mission. I now have the power to ensure that the three people have the ability to make smart, moral decisions. With that being said, I would take my father, my aunt, and the UT Chancellor’s Honors Program’s own, Joshua Dobbs. I believe each of the people I have chosen have what it takes to face new challenges, and even new planets.
I decided to re-enlist and not be a summer soldier. Valley Forge might be the ugly duckling, but that doesn 't let all the joyful men there stop being joyful even when they need more men like me. Also they have surgeons to help us with our injuries and let me tell you, Dr. Waldo is a very good surgeon so why wouldn’t you want to stay.

Link Crew I would like to be a Link Leader because I remember how scared I was as a freshman coming to the high school. Having two link leaders made me feel less scared. I was glad there was someone I could ask my questions to. I enjoy working with people and helping others, and I hope that I can help the upcoming freshmen with the questions they have and do fun things for them because I know what it meant to me.
When I got there, the first night no one messed with me or barely said anything, so that was kinda nice. But around 6 in the morning I was awoken for battle training at the zero gravity camp. We had flew to space over night and now we are going to start training. Well it wasn't hard at the start but as it got harder I messed up a lot and a few weeks later I was being picked on by a bugger. His name was randy and he had a gang with him and they all joined him as he picked on me.
Parents should want to give their kid’s the best opportunities in life. Malcolm Gladwell discusses parents giving their children a better chance at success by redshirting kids before kindergarten in his book The Story of Success. Redshirting in education is the practice of holding one’s child back a year before entering kindergarten. This allows the child to have gained a year of extra knowledge and cognitive ability if the extra time is utilized properly. Parents are struggling in deciding if they should hold their kids back or if they should let them be susceptible to having a disadvantage.
The reason why I want to go into the career path so bad is because I've done corrections for so long and the I just want a better and bigger change so that I don't have to do shift work and work 6 days and sometimes more than that being that we are so short of staff in
Love has a variety of different effects on people, if it is genuine it can change people and help them heal their pain but if it is not genuine it can crush and hurt. In Judith Ortiz Cofer's story "Catch The Moon" she states that love can make people want to improve themselves and change for the better. In W.D Wetherell's story "The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant", he states that love can make a person try to be someone they're not, hiding their true self to impress others and then in it all leading to heartbreak and regret. Although both authors have the universal theme of love in their stories, as well as other similarities, they are different when it comes to how the character changes, conflict between characters, how the conflict is resolved,
I’ve been here for 8 months, and in 1 more month I can choose to re-enlist, or go home. My decision has already been made. Although George Washington is trying his best, his monotonous words will not be enough to keep me in this graveyard. I refuse to risk my health and in all likelihood die from the sickness and disease going around camp. I refuse to starve, be frigid, live in smolder-filled huts, and remain unclothed and unhealthy.
When comparing How To Read Literature Like A Professor and To Kill A Mockingbird, many’s first thoughts lead to symbolism. As Thomas C. Foster wrote much of How to Read Literature Like A Professor about symbolism, To Kill A Mockingbird is one huge symbol, including the title itself. By that, I mean that the mockingbird is the overall universal face of this timeless novel, portraying innocence. This theme of innocence is made evident in many instances in the novel by making many characters into that same mockingbird in a way, including the dog, Boo Radley, and Mrs. Dubose herself. However, this theme also includes the innocence of that mockingbird being stolen.
As I peer through the thick smoke, reminding myself why I chose to come in the first place, I see a half dead man on the floor- begging for water. We don’t have enough food or clothes. There are very few of us left to fight against the redcoats. Even though on some days we are cheerful, we are starving and freezing. I am wondering if I should re-enlist or go back home.
I shall quit as soon as I get the chance, due to the fact that there’s no food, illness is everywhere, and I cannot stand these living conditions. I do not have much more time on this world. It is only a matter of time before I die just like I have seen so many of my fellow soldiers do right before my spoiled eyes. Leaving is the only option for
