In 2017, Bill C-16 was passed in Canada by the senate. This law was passed to protect the offense of the LGBT group by creating a list of pronouns in which to address a person without saying the words “he’ or “she”this is called PGP (personal gender pronouns) . When the senate passed this bill this helped the LGBT group only. Many people who believe that a person is the gender that they are born with disagree with the thought of not being able to say the words “he” or “she” as pne is meant to. This not only forces the to go against their own personal beliefs but it takes away their right as a human of freedom of speech. The main spokesperson against this bill in Professor Jordan Peterson, who has participated in many debates claiming his right to freedom of speech. His rallies started when the bill was passed and he refused to call a student by them or they. He has held may debates and rallies standing up for his right to freedom of speech. Many from the LGBT group claim that he is being discriminatory and racist towards them yet this is not the case in anyway. His point is the lost of his freedom of speech. He has nothing against the LGBT group themselves at all yet, he believes he should not be forced to call a person by pronouns when he should have the freedom of speech of being able to say he or she. He makes it very clear it is nothing about the people themselves but only his freedom of speech. Peterson has many campus students by his side and assisting him in the debates and rallies. Yet, although he is no way attempting to hurt the LGBT group he has been constantly attacked by the LGBT group and misheard and repeated unfairly. Peterson asks where is it going to end. If the government already controls how we talk to a person then where will it stop. Peterson just rallies for his core value of Freedom of Speech. What harm does he cause? Peterson quotes “If I can’t say what I think, then I don’t get to think, and if I can’t think then I can’t orient myself in the world, and if I can’t do that, then I’m going to fall into a pit and take everyone else with
