In the article, “Water Controversies Boil Over”, from Sacramento Bee “Opinion” section, published on APril 26, 2009 by Mat Wiser. He argues the conflict about conserving the water. Mat wiser exclaims that in the next year nations will fight over water, because it’s not being handled in the most efficient way it should be. Water isn’t being handled efficiently, and that kills land, food crops, and animals ecosystems. Mat Wiser says that, “There is probably enough fresh water available to meet humans needs the problem is poor management of water, which results in scarcity and conflicts,” (2009 Wiser).

In the article “California Drought: Governor Jerry Brown Issues Water Rules” for the Cable News Network, Ray Sanchez explains how Governor Jerry Brown is taking drastic measures to reduce California’s water usage. To do that, he has established many rules and restrictions on the people of California, as well as its businesses and farms. Governor Brown states that this drought needs extraordinary actions, as it has shown in the Sierra Nevada Mountains which has lost snow and are now covered with dry and brown grass. I agree with Sanchez and Governor Brown about imposing these rules and restriction on the people of California because these restrictions are going to help guide California out of the drought or at least help maintain and not let this drought get any worse than it already is. I agree with the author because in the article he provides good support to show why these rules need to be enacted upon

Governor Rick Snyder caused one of the biggest disasters in Michigan. The flint water crisis. Governor Snyder switched the Flint water system which was connected to the Detroit water system to the Flint River. And right away people started noticing severe changes to their water. This was caused from the water pipes corroding and lead leaking into the water.

But, because of all the corporate greed, corporations are ruining our natural resource of water by creating it into a commodity and selling it. The water pollution is polluting great deal of their rivers. The reason for a mass of this is “Industrial runoff, poor sewage treatment , and catch basins”(Auslin). A group did a study in 2011 that said “39 percent of china’s seven river basins were too polluted for general use, including 14 percent that were unfit even for industrial use. In 26 key lakes and reservoirs, only 42 percent of total water was deemed fit for swimming and fishing, while 8 percent was unfit even for industrial use”(Auslin).

It is true that there are factors contributing to China’s water scarcity, such as Global warming, Water pollution and Industrialization but if China does not tackle this situation now or it will spell D.A.N.G.E.R.O.U.S. However, the three biggest causes of China’s water-scarcity crisis are Global warming, Water pollution and especially Industrialization.
