During the Cold War was based on two different types of beliefs called Communism and Capitalism and both the U.S. with its own allies and the U.S.S.R. Its Communist allies are equally to blame for starting the war. When the Iron curtain was around the East European government adopted a communist system and fell under the control of the U.S.S.R. The United States failed during the Bay of Pigs invasion by not properly taking out the Cuban Navy and solider as planned. After the attack, Fidel Castro gave a speech stating “Everybody, men and women, young and old, we are all one in this moment of danger. ”(Document H). This attacked caused the people of Cuba to fear what would happen if the U.S.—an omnipotent country of the time—attacked Cuba again.

First and foremost, the American people feared that communism would spread and take over governments in other nations beyond the Kremlin.

The Cold War is among the most significant conflicts the world has ever faced, that took place in 1945, two years after the 2nd world war. It was the first total war between economic and social systems, and an industrial test to destruction, between the two biggest superpowers at the time, the United States and the Soviet Union. It was a race for world domination and a contest between communism and capitalism that lasted up to 46 years. However a second more threatening cold war is on the horizon.
