Both Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson like many of the founding fathers of America share a ideology concerning independence and freedom in general. Although the two were notably talented writers, the difference in their arguments was their respective deliveries, writing styles, and their timing. Personally, I agree more with the way Thomas Paine chose to present his point of view. Common sense, for example, was a significant eye-opener for many Americans. One of the only reasons it made such huge impact was because it was written in a style that was easy to understand for the average American.

However, the three people known to be George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Abigail Adams made remarkable changes that would be remembered even till today. George Washington's presidency created traditions and established precedents that would be carried out through our government today and the presidents, also Benjamin Franklin would be a dominant figure to the colonies as well as Abigail Adams who would strive for women's rights. The three presidents, Warren Harding, Calvin Coolidge and Herbert Hoover were the presidents who lead the county of America during 1920s that also affected the lives of every single American by the way they lead the country. Warren Harding was an isolationist who wants to return the America to normalcy. He avoided political and economic alliances with foreign countries in which the anti-immigrant sentiment (nativism) radically increases. Harding reduced the number of immigrants after 1922. Calvin Coolidge who is also became a president, believe in laissez-faire business philosophy and once stated “The chief business of the American people is business”.

John Adams John Adams is the one of the most interesting person in the Revolutionary War. He had a huge impact on the Revolutionary War. He helped make the Declaration of Independence. In 1774 he served in the first continental congress. He was the first vice president of the United States and the second president.

The founding fathers were smart men who the world looked up to because of their smart decisions, actions, that directed the U.S. to what it is today. But sadly in today’s society most people either have forgotten the things they did for us, or they just do not care. The founding fathers were great men who led this country to victory in war and on the political front. And often early U.S. history is portrayed as moving smoothly for the colonies turning into the a country of its own , but in reality it was just the opposite. George Washington our first president had problems figuring out ways to control the new nation as it progressed under his leadership.

When the year of 1807 came around, the way that America elected a president changed. In previous elections, only the rich men were able to vote which as a result whoever promised more the wealth was elected for president. As seen in the election of 1828 the person who was more relatable to the people, won because the common man was able to vote and so they used that opportunity and elected whoever they thought was going to help them. Overall the people preferred Jackson over Adams because Jackson was able to relate to the people better, and because he was a symbol of the American dream.

Thomas Jefferson was able to understand the use of presidential power in a new way. Washington and Adam followed the criteria of separation of powers and followed what the Constitution stated, with some minor interpretations from Adams. Jefferson, on the other hand, understood that concept and put it to routine when necessary. His interpretation of the Constitution caused him to understand the vagueness of the powers the president was actually granted. Jefferson did not purposefully go into office expecting to gain more land.

Of the many great presidents, Thomas Jefferson was the strongest. Not only was he a great president, but he also was able to be so involved with teh New American Union even after his time in office. He was on eof the first philosophical thinkers that helped for the foundations of the country, he launched the library of congress, and was the one to provide the inspiration and the funding for the Lewis and Clark Expedition, all of which are important factors to every day life even today. Both Linocln and Washington were among the great presidents as well. Lincoln for example "made a stand against the popular opinion of the time, a decision that would divide the nation" (Emily Stone) about slavery that did significantly impact America.

These presidents helped shape America into what it is today. Without their problems during their presidencies and then solving them, no one knows where America would be. For example, why did President Madison go to war, in 1812, unlike all of the previous and future presidents. Washington wanted to stay neutral during his presidency, so he completely avoided war with foreign countries.

When comparing Sam Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams, we can see that there are some similarities and differences between the men. Perhaps the most notable relation this group has, is that they were all formal presidents and had some type of power or ownership. The qualities of all four men are often seen as opposed to each other. One similarity for example, with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson was that they were prosperous Virginian plantation owners and held slaves. Jefferson and Adams were both well educated people and knew about the law.
