In his speech, King creates an emotional appeal to his audience, saying “I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where theywill not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character” which would make his speech more powerful than what it already was. He is probably as well known as a civil rights activist as much as he is known as the author of A Letter from Birmingham Jail, a letter written to inform and persuade others of the importance of civil rights.
Two men who have made a big part in our American history were Martin Luther King Jr. and Abraham Lincoln. Also, they were both very important Civil Right Movement leaders. For example, even though they both worked hard for African-Americans equal rights, Martin fought for African-American’s rights, while Abe defended African-American’s rights. Dr. King was an African-American so he felt the hurt when Abe was only seeing the African-American 's hurt.
Both John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King were great leaders indeed. They fought for a better world, each of them from his social-political situation. I would like to name another world leader which has been very important in History too: Jesus Christ. Even non-Christian people would admit that He had a great influence in the world, as we know it today.

Alexander Graham Bell, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, world war I and II veterans, Vietnam war veterans, and soldiers currently serving today. These men are remembered today, not because of what they wrote, or said, but because of what they did, what they actively did. Sure, Abraham Lincoln gave some mighty fine speeches, but let’s be honest here, we all know Abraham Lincoln, for his great beard, his amazing top hat, and his actively getting us out of the civil war. These were acts, not words. Today I will not be arguing that the pen is mightier than the sword, but rather, that the sword is mightier than then pen.
Hero Christopher Reeve once said, “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” Heroes are daring, selfless, confident, and are every day ordinary people changing the world. Mallory Dodge from the book The Problem With Forever is a great example of a hero. While Mallory was on the way to class, a girl was following her and saying incredibly rude things.
