A hobby is an activity that people done during free time. Since it could release their stress or relaxation. But there are also some dangerous hobbies that could their behavior even live. There are so many risks-hobbies for teenagers that I am going to explain, such as party, shopping and addicted to the internet. It is already attached to teenagers in general, but this time I will discuss it more deeply. The purpose of this essay is to explain about risks-hobbies that teenagers do nowadays and how it would affect their lives. The first current harmful hobby for adolescences is doing bad party. Some teenagers would go for an event or occasion, where they could hear good music, dance, drink, and meet new people. This is very common because there are many teenagers who do that to relieve their stress. But sometimes they couldn’t control themselves and went for it too much. Tasnim Ahmed, wrote “However, if one must constantly justify oneself for partying and feels compelled keep partying because of social norms, then it’s more harmful than beneficial.” (2013). Most of people went to party for having fun and a way to build their friendship or relationship, but some of them are going in the wrong way. Parties are most obvious arenas for socializing, but they aren’t the best place to cultivate for building a friendship. They should responsible about what they are doing and at least they 18 years old so they could control their emotion. In other words, party might have some
I. The title of this article is A Host of Trouble by Emma Schwartz. It was published on September 29, 2007 in U.S. News & World Report. II. The main point of this article is to shine light of the fact that more parents are being made liable for their teens’ parties.
At the age of 21, people tend to have a higher sense of how to handle alcohol. The biggest difference is the sense of responsibility. When they are 18, they only just start to hit maturity. They are not mature enough to have their responsibility for their actions after getting drunk. Due to the lack of maturity, those who started drinking alcohol at 18 are more likely to be involved in binge drinking or other irresponsible actions.
In David Dodds’, article Beautiful Teenage Brains (2011) he explains how teenagers are more willing to take risks than adults because unlike adults, they value reward more heavily. He provides evidence of researchers like psychologist Laurence Steinberg and his findings at Temple University. Where Steinberg observed adolescents and adults separately play a video game and recorded the difference in their actions with and without an audience. He also uses information obtained by Casey a neuroscientist at the Weill Cornel Medical College. The author's purpose for writing this article is so adults especially parents can gain some knowledge of what it is that’s going on in teenager’s brains to be more aware along with the teenagers themselves.
Drinking is a common way to meet up with past friends and talk with people from your past. Drinking takes responsibility for those drinking. Adults from ages 18-20 should be able to drink because they understand the responsibility it comes with . The age limit for drinking should be lowered because when you turn 18 you can vote and serve your country,it would make the roads safer, also it would help the economy. Countries across the globe have legal drinking ages ranging from 16-18, to no age limit at all.
I’m sure we all can relate to a house party one of our friends had that had alcohol at it. As said in the article all the 21 drinking age does is make it more desirable to younger and younger kids with the forbidden fruit concept. At a lot of these parties the parents are the ones who supply the alcohol because they think that since they drank as kids they will turn out okay and that is not entirely right. On average 11 kids die every day from alcohol, whether it’s in an accident or has something to do with their heart. In the united states when an individual turns 18 they are considered an adult in the governments eyes.
That a pretty big question, well there are a couple reasons why, peer pressure, leisure but the main reason is “breaking the law” according to research 87% of high school seniors have drank alcohol. Which means that a big portion of teens below the age of seventeen to eighteen have consumed alcohol. The feel that teens get when breaking the law is huge. Being rebellious and not following the rules is a important role in a teens life. Preventing 18-20 year olds to drink will only push them to do it unsupervised “therefore possibly harming themselves with dangerous consequences”.
Researchers have found that “over the course of human evolution, the willingness to take risks during this period of life has granted an adaptive edge” (Dobbs 4). By realizing that taking risks is an important part of coming-of-age, teens develop a new perspective. The article points out that “we enter a world made by our parents. But we will live most of our lives, and prosper (or not) in a world run and remade by our peers” (Dobbs 4). Teens realize that they are transitioning to a whole new world as they come of age; a world run by their generation.
Since the brain is still developing many things occur such as emotional ,behavior, and accidents. Eighteen year olds are not responsible enough to consume alcohol. Eighteen year olds aren’t responsible because they can have different behaviors and act differently more than they should. Some of the behaviors that teenagers or college students react by aggression or sexual assault. Usually depends how aggressive you could get with the amount of alcohol in you body.
In the essay “What adolescents Miss When We Let Them Grow Up in Cyberspace” by Brent Staples, the key point in the essay was that teenagers lose the joy of growing up without internet. Teens are missing the little things in life that make the biggest impact. Lets not forget about the good things that internet can do for us like: pay bills, meet new people, or even sharing pictures on social media which you can do from the comfort of your own home. These kinds of interactions can become highly addictive, but it keeps everyone connected. Brent Staples brings in real life experiences into his article that cannot be compared with from by the internet.
During these two years, attending the typical parties, students faced a choice. Will they follow the law and wait until they turn twenty-one or will they follow the crowd and drink? Sadly, most choose to follow the crowd. According to data published in Mastering Health, a
When I was a teenager, the cool thing to do was hang out with friends, party, and drink alcohol, so I thought. My friends and I would tend to follow the crowd and it seemed to always lead to trouble. Because we were senseless and easily influenced, we decided to try some to fit in.

That why money is the main reason to create a greed of a person specially teenager. Teenagers are still depending on their parents and can not make money to support their own need. " Chester Himes is one of the towering figures of the black literary tradition”, he is a great author that reflect a real life of African American.
