British Army Officer Francis Smith is the British Major General of the battle of Lexington. He received the order from the government of the Great Britain that there are many weapons like guns in Concord which located just near Boston. Francis Smith was very happy and wanted to use these weapons to improve the military power of the Great Britain, so he ordered and sent his troops to find the weapons and bring them back. However, when the worker John Parker heard this news, he was shocked and angry at the British troops. John Parker decided to break the scheme down.

Lexington and Concord was also known as "the shot heard around the world. " The battle started on April 19, 1775; the British troops were sent to confiscate colonial weapons, After searching Concord for about four hours, the British prepared to return to Boston located 18 miles away. By that time, almost 2,000 militiamen who were known as minutemen for their ability to be ready on a moment’s notice, had descended to the area, and more were constantly arriving. At first, the minutemen simply followed the British column. Fighting started again soon after, however with the minutemen firing at the British from behind trees, stone walls, houses and sheds.

In the early 1760’s, the tension between the people in Boston and the British soldiers started to grow until in early 1770, when the two groups reached their breaking point. On March 5, 1770, a group of men started intimidating a British soldier; he soon called for assistance but eventually the crowd had grown to practically one hundred people. Captain Thomas Preston and seven other soldiers arrived, trying to calm the situation down, but to no avail. A soldier fired into the crowd followed by the other soldiers firing soon after, resulting in five people being killed. Captain Thomas Preston happened to be arrested and charged with murder.

In this way, on the twenty-eighth of May in 1754, Washington and his men had an arrangement to sneak into the French camp and take the land for themselves and for the British, yet the one of the French men spotted them and afterward shots rang out loud all around. At the village green of Lexington, on April the 19th, 1775, a shot rang out from an unknown shooter on an unknown side. This is as “The Shot Heard ‘Round The World.” To this day, no one is quite sure which side fired first, the British or the Colonists. I believe that the British fired first upon the Colonists.

There were many key events and people that led up to the American Revolution. Two of them being the The Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre. These events are very important to history because these were the first of many events that helped with the establishment of independence from Britain. The colonist left their country and sailed across the oceans in hopes of starting a new life in a new world. However, the British government didn't give them that opportunity by controlling them.

I settled my opinion on this, because the colonists were the angriest prior to the battle between the two groups. The British had been dominating, and left the colonists to suffer. It gives the Colonists a reason to fire first.

Although the battle at “Fort Ticonderoga” was a small one, it was also important. This battle was the first victory of the American Colonists. This event was vital, as it would provide more artillery for the colonists, and was moral booster. Lead by Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold, the so called Green Mountain Boys, a militia organized to defend land and landowners, attacked and seized the fort.

The Battle of Saratoga in September and October of 1777 is the turning point of the Revolutionary War because the French joined with allies, British troops surrendered their arms, and the Patriots had crucial victories. It was a victory for the Patriots in the American Revolution and is the most decisive battles in history. The Battle began as a plan by the British to control New York and isolate New England from the Southern colonies and put an end to the Revolution. Which ended as an opportunity for the Patriots.

The Revolutionary War happened form 1775-1783. One of the first major events of the Revolutionary War was the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Hundreds of British troops attacked the colonists’ military stores in Concord on April 18, 1775. The result of this battle was the British lost and were removed from Boston; however they did win the Battle of Lexington. Another major event was when the Declaration of Independence was established.
