Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, and passed on April 4, 1968. His father was a pastor at a catholic church and was the co-pastor. Martin went to school in Georgia and he graduated from school at the age of fifteen. He attended Morehouse College, which is a distinguished Negro in Atlanta from which both his father and grandfather had graduated. After three years of theological study at Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania, he was awarded the B.D. in 1951. He then enrolled in graduate studies at Boston University, completing his residence for the doctorate in 1953 and receiving the degree in 1955. In Boston, he met and married Coretta Scott, a young woman of uncommon intellectual and artistic attainments. They then had two sons and two daughters. Mr. King has impacted my life to an extent. Later in life, I realized that Mr. King did a lot of African-Americans, he had many other important influential messages. His message was about the racial equality and the economic equality. Everyone in the states really deserved a good amount of money so they can support themselves and their families. His last speech was in support of the bus driver 's strike which is located in Memphis, Tennessee. While Mr. King was in Memphis for that trip in 1968, a man shot him on a balcony outside of his motel room. After his loss, it was hard for many, but the nice thing you do see was that there was marching crowds and there were people of various races. Dr.King wanted all African Americans to be treated equally, he wanted freedom for his brothers and sisters. He urged people to stand up and push for freedom in a nonviolent way but the road to freedom was not easy. You had to be willing to lay down your life even if it meant you could end up dead, he states “Others have marched with us down nameless streets of the South. They have languished in filthy, roach-infested jails, suffering the abuse and brutality of angry policemen...” (King 274) Dr. King describes the experiences of what they had to endure, these are the experiences the people who joined him had to face.
Dr. king talk about a lot of hardships during this speech. The way that Dr. king showed the African Americans is by discrimination, racism and not getting any rights. For example Dr. king talks about a "Promissory note" which were suppose to give every person human rights but made them suffer more. Another example is "One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination" quoted by Dr. king. This shows that even after the "Promissory note" which is the declaration of independence they were stuck in this same place and being treated different because of their color.

Martin skipped three grades in high school and at the age of 15, he attended Morehouse College in 1944.
