How Did The Boston Massacre Lead To The American Revolution

Boston Massacre Introduction Boston Massacre is the famous riot that took place between the British soldiers and American patriots. The trigger point was the levy of taxes on the Americans called patriots in literature with regard to this particular era. The killings were attempted by the British soldiers who were posted in the territory for making sure the implementation of the introduced taxes on general consumption goods like tea, wine, fruits, red and green glass, red and white lead, paste board, papers and painter’s colors. The taxes were imposed under the famous Townshend Acts 1767.

Patriots wanted to be free and was fighting for their rights. The patriots were also knew as the rebels. The british thought they can control everyone and the patriots decided to come together and fight the british. Patriots fought the british for a very long time. They won and lost many of battles.

Some of the taxes that were implemented onto the Americans were the Sugar and Stamp act, Navigation act, Wool act, Hat act, the Proclamation of 1763, the Quartering Act, Townshend Acts, and the Coercive Intolerable Acts, (Document Five). Each one of these added more stress on the colonist persuading their final decision of starting a revolution. Not only did the taxes install hatred into the colonist but also events and actions that the British did harmed their cause. Those events included; the boston massacre, the French Indian war, Boston Tea Party, and many more, (Document four) As seen the British lead themselves onto the wrong path by trying to tighten their grip on the colonist but ended up hurting themselves when their actions added more fuel to the Americans fire.

Along with the British raising taxes, they also started making Americans allow British soldiers to live in their houses. The British government elected people in England to be the lawmakers and the Americans felt like the people in England would not understand their needs. With all these things occurring, the Americans never even considered the freedom from England. When the war started, the Americans came to realize it was their freedom they were fighting for and they were going to be independent. As the war went on, the Americans fought harder for their beliefs and freedom.

These war begun between Great Britain and the 13 united British colonies on the United States. However, this war ended in a global war between European powers. This war was the bomb of the American Revolution where the colonists do not want the rights of the Great Britain in governing them without any representation. In 1775, revolutionaries had gained control of the thirteen colonial governments. They set up the Second Continental Congress and formed a Continental Army.

The American Revolution was a war of principles fought between the Loyalists and the Patriots. The Loyalists believed that they should stay loyal to the king because they didn't want to go into war. They didn't want to lose their fortune or businesses because if the Patriots won they would lose it all. Moreover, the Patriots fought for the principle of freedom. They fought for their rights.

The battle of Lexington and Concord, the battle of Trenton, and the battle of Yorktown were three key battles won by the U.S. that pushed the outcome of the war in the favor of the United States. The battle of Yorktown was the most significant it was the last major battle on land and with the surrender of Lord Charles Cornwallis it was very pivotal in the defeat of the British.

Although there are many reasons why the American Revolution started, a few of them had a larger consequence. First, the Boston Massacre had a major impact on the American Revolution. To continue, another instigator to the colonists seeking their independence was the Boston Tea Party. Lastly, The Battles of Lexington and Concord really pushed towards the American Revolution.
