Technology Dose Not Make Feel Alone Technology is becoming more popular now and it dose not make them feel alone. A lot of people use technology now more than before, and it helps them know more people, and make them more connected. Also, it makes them play with each other, and make them having really fun and good time playing. But a lot of people think technology will make us more alone because technology make people separate from each other. According to Lindsey Craig in her article “Technology -- we all love it and we all use it, but how is it affecting us?” she stated that “Technology is making us more alone, because instead of interacting with our friends in person, we are dependent on using our phones or tablets. so that will make them fell alone and not make them meet with their friends and family. However, I think using the internet make you more connected with our friends and our family. Also, using the internet help us to know more people, and it help us to have a fun time playing games from the internet. So that with won’t make me feel alone. Some people might say, playing with friends using technology make them feel more alone because it is not face to face, and it is boring to play alone. In contrast, I say using technology game like PlayStation is a way that make people stay together and paly. We can hangout with friends using PlayStation or playing online together and having a fun time. I play online games and it is more fun and challenging. Also, I made new friends when I play with them online, and now I contact with them every day to play online games on PlayStation. playing with friends using technology will not make me feel …show more content…
Also, they still think if there are no people around you, you will feel alone. However, some technology has a good advantage which is calling in a phones, so I can use my phone to call family or friends. Using technology dose not make me feel alone with calling advantage. For example, when I feel alone or homesick I use my phone to call my mom and my dad and, so that made me feel not homesick or alone. Whenever you feel alone just go and call someone you love and see who you feel after you call the
People spend countless hours on the Internet or in front of the TV, hoping their troubles will go away. In other words, individuals endorse and dedicate time to their virtual worlds because there is a lack of failure in it. Everything in the digital world designed to satisfy the needs of the viewer acts as a break from reality, seeing as how people act complacent and acclamatory after a session of their, say, favorite tv show or the like. Overall, technology is a helpful source in times of loneliness or sadness- one can immediately turn to whatever they please and draw away from the truth of their
“The End of Solitude” creates the overall theme of pitting technology against solitude and gives many detailed examples and evidence of how technology has removed solitude from our lives and some downfalls of the social situation our culture has placed itself in. Tomine’s cover paints an image of many of the issues brought up in Deresiewicz’s article. Both the article and the cover make a point of showing the opposition of superficiality and authenticity in our lives. Technology has become a means for superficiality, especially through social media, and because we no longer seek solitude, we lack the authenticity of self that is established during time spent alone. Solitude helps us to achieve greater truth and meaning of self.
Everyone has a cell phone nowadays. My little brother, who’s 9, knows how to use a phone more than my parents do and my sister spends a lot of time on Facebook. Since we have social media in our pockets, we are constantly connected. We are becoming dependent on it. Our dependence is making it harder to create things.
The constant use of the device, can make a person feel as if they're nothing without the electronic device. In "Isolated by the Internet," Clifford Stoll states that the social ties online are not as strong as the relationships made face to face. He points out that often times people use the internet as an escape button from real life, "Where once people... would have worked within the real world and slowly learned how to deal with people, today they are able to turn to the Internet for solace and escape." When people connect with a lot of people online, they believe that instantly they become better at communicating with people. If you were to take away the electronic device from them, they wouldn't feel the same.
Why is it that humans have grown into this immense fear of solitude, have we developed in such a way that we cannot be without one another in this ever-connected state of the world? In past generations, this isolation would have been considered a gift that only the privileged or the determined would be able to possess, but now with smartphones and other technology controlling our lives at every second of the day, we are afraid of it. We are afraid to be alone. We are afraid to be bored. As Deresiewicz points out, “...losing solitude, what have they lost?
Technology has defied all odds as it has been progressing over the years. At the same time, technology has become a hindrance in schools. There is a proposition for our school to participate in the National Shut Down Your Screen Week. This would be a great opportunity for us to take a break from technology and develop some social skills that allow us to connect with each other and not through a screen. Turning off technology will allow students to think for themselves.
When we are in front of someone, we are more afraid of what they will think than if we are behind a screen. You can speak out to others when you want to, if you want to. You can join new people and get to know others. You can talk to friends and family with technology, even when you cannot see them, or are not with
Technology has become an essential part of humans’ lives. Technology affects the lives of a lot of human beings. Sherry Turkle in her essay “Alone Together” presents examples of how technology is affecting lives and changing the way people have relationships. Turkle shows cases where technology has replaced the presence of a human or serve as different way to modify humans’ lives. She expresses her opinion on how people is getting attached to technology and are starting to prefer having interactions with technology over the company of other human beings because of the complications of humans’ relationships.
Is technology bad for us? Who knew that technology usage can lead to memory problems? Since browsing through social media is very common nowadays, the brains are bombarded with electronic information. From instant messaging to blogs, it is easy to forget some things. Over the years, the debate about whether or not technology has a positive, or negative impact on society gets talked about on many sites and social media platforms.
But in actuality, technology can be a major benefit to those that feel isolation such as the elderly. Elderly people often feel social isolation and it can lead to their deteriorating health or worse prospects for their future. That is why technology is beneficial: it has the power to help the elderly through and out of isolation through new forms of communication than that of traditional methods. So, although isolation is a problem, technology is a
Nicholas Carr and Clive Thompson both talk about technology and the impacts on it, but through two different views. Yet I still believe either way that technology can negatively affect your social life and relationships you hold with others, but especially friends and family. Nicholas Carrs essay, “Is Google Making Us Stupid” he argues that using the internet as our search engine and reading source is altering the way that we read and process information. “Never has a communications system played so many roles in our lives-or exerted such broad influence over our thoughts-as the internet does today,” (Carr 321). Carr supports his argument with stories of himself and other peoples experiences of how the internet is warping their abilities to do simple tasks such as reading a text message, an article online, or even something in print
Technology affects almost every aspect in our life. Nowadays people use computers and smart phones in their personal social activities, business, education, medical care, politics and, most of all, in entertainment. Needless to say that technology makes our life easier and is the major reason that helps people develop, especially technically, but it certainly affects our life negatively from a social perspective leading people to feel lonely. You don’t have to be physically alone to feel lonely.
With changes like these in lifestyle, where much of our communication, leisure and entertainment is online, and our smartphones being an essential part of everyday life, questions are arising concerning what technology may be doing to us and if technology is a threat to our health and wellbeing. Digital technology may give us many advantages in our everyday life, as well as benefiting our wellbeing. Online communication supporting existing relationships with friends and family can benefit our self-esteem and social connectedness. It can also make it easier to stay connected with friends and family while living abroad, which can
