The plot
The story is about a rebellious socialite Ellie, who marries King, but her father cancels the wedding. She runs away from her family by diving off the yacht and heads to New York. On the bus she meets with Peter, and drives away. They found out that they are in love (reluctantly) and fail to admit so to each other.
As she losses the image of a spoiled princes to pursue her happiness for aviator husband, there is a residue of being too girly in her behavior, and that is evident throughout the film. Being an adventurer, Ellie is infectiously happy on the open road, “a good morning as she wakes up in a bed, having no money, but a huge smile on her face indicates her happiness”. Peter on the other hand is sarcastic, worldly and evens a man of honor, despite being rogue, boozer and ardent reporter. The two characters depict the notion that two opposites usually attracts.

In this paper I hypothesize that A Voyage to the Moon was most innovative in cinematography and editing. Although mise en-scene was the main focus of the film, I hypothesize that mise en scene wasn’t as innovative as the other two. As mentioned earlier, mise en scene made A Voyage to the Moon easy to understand and follow along. In the first scene of the film, this power
Mise-en-scéne is crucial to classical Hollywood as it defined an era ‘that in its primary sense and effect, shows us something; it is a means of display. ' (Martin 2014, p.XV). Billy Wilder 's Sunset Boulevard (Wilder 1950) will be analysed and explored with its techniques and styles of mise-en-scéne and how this aspect of filmmaking establishes together as a cohesive whole with the narrative themes as classical Hollywood storytelling. Features of the film 's sense of space and time, setting, motifs, characters, and character goals will be explored and how they affect the characterisation, structure, and three-act organisation.
When all of a sudden Peter goes to work the next day to find out no one was working in the office, so his boss comes up to him and had told him he has been accused of communist activities. He does not deny it, because it turns out he had joined some type of organization back in his college years to impress a girl whom he had thought he was in love with. Peter really valued his life and his career very much, you could tell just by his actions throughout the film. One night he went for a drive and he had swerved off the road and had crashed to wake up with he had no recognition of who he was. Long story short an elder man found him on the beach mistaking him as his son Luke who had originally died at war and never returned home until now he had thought.

‘Two Days, One Night’ is a deep investigation of human values that slowly transcends into a genre of its own. The Dardenne brothers - known for depicting hard-hitting social values with a realist aesthetic - have written and directed another richly textured film with thick emotional layers to unveil the superficiality of community relationships. Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, through their writing, slow cook the proceedings of this social drama with a stark alacrity that simmers the audience in anticipation.

Over the past century, film has served as a powerful means of communication to a global audience and has become a vital part of the contemporary culture in a world that is increasingly saturated by visual content. Due to the immediacy and the all-encompassing nature of film, the process of watching a film, is widely perceived to be a passive activity by the general masses. However, quoting Smith in his article about the study of film, “nothing could be further from the truth.” The study and understanding of film as an art form enhances the way we watch and appreciate films. It requires the audience's active participation and interaction with the film in order to fully comprehend the directors' intention behind every creative decision.
