John Adams Failure

Thomas Hancock was very wealthy and owned a very successful shipping business. John Hancock went on to study at the University of Harvard. In 1759 John went to London and lived there for two years and returned to the colonies in 1761. In 1764 Thomas Hancock was getting very ill and passed away, then soon after that John Hancock inherited the family business. After Thomas’s death, John was given two political positions, one of them was managing local affairs in Boston, and then he was elected colonial legislature.

John Adams was born on October 30, 1735, in Braintree, Massachusetts. His mother, Susanna Boylston Adams, was a successor of the Boylstons of Brookline, a protruding family in colonial Massachusetts. His father John Adams Sr. was a town councilman, a Congregationalist, and a farmer. When he was 16 he received a studentship to Harvard university, he advanced in 1775 at the age of 20. He was awarded his master’s degree in 1758, he studied law in the office.

Samuel Adams graduated from Harvard in 1743, even though he was a very educated young man he struggled getting a successful business started because he had problems with handling his finances, but most young people face the same struggles. With no where to turn he joined his family business, and began to produce malt for brewing beer. In his spare time Samuel became an active writer with the independent paper, he was writing articles on the politics that were in the public. Politics became one of his interests in while studying law in college. Samuel was critical of local leaders in his articles because of their alignment with the British.

John Hancock was born Massachusetts in 1737. John Hancock graduated from Harvard in 1754. In that same year he founded his family's trading and shipping company. He was also one of the richest men and most fancy men in Boston during his time. Him and his family earned much of their fortune from smuggling, and with his friend Samuel Adams he was against the stamp act at the very beginning.

The Case, Marbury v. Madison was a milestone for the journey that the constitution takes throughout American History. This Case was one of the most important Supreme Court decisions in history. This all took place in 1803. John Adams was a from Massachusetts and Thomas Jefferson was from Virginia. The two were both colleagues and friends during the upbringing of the Republic even though they were both very different people.

The election of 1800 was a close race between President John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, the Democratic-Republican Vice President seeking his own term as President. As the election progressed, Adams appointed several Federalist judges to the judiciary. This became known as the “Midnight Judges” (John Adams 4). Jefferson resented these appointments and saw them as a threat towards his presidency. Adams was the first “presidents not to attend the inauguration of his successor.

JOHN ADAMS John Adams was born on October 30, 1735, in Quincy, Massachusetts. His father, John Adams Sr. was a farmer, minister, and a town councilman. Both of young John's mother and father were descendants of well known and important families during that time in colonial Massachusetts. During the year of 1801 to 1809, while Thomas Jefferson had beed taking a position of President of the United States, there was a starting point of a new Political era. After George Washington was elected to be the first President of the United States, he let Thomas Jefferson to be secretary of state. In

Thomas Jefferson was vice-president during Adams’ term. George Washington was there as a private citizen (Bremer 10). Adams won the election by three electoral votes. Thomas Jefferson got the second most votes and became vice-president. John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and quite a few other men helped write the Declaration of Independence.

George Washington was unanimously chosen by the electoral college as the first president of the United States on April 1789 where he served two terms until March 1797. Washington selected Alexander Hamilton to serve as the Secretary of Treasury during Washington’s presidency, although he did a good job as Treasurer, his economic plans did bring split decisions from congress which reluctantly accepted his proposals to pay off national debt. The second President of the United States was John Adams who served his term from 1797 to 1801, Adams had a very troubled Presidency as he intended to keep diplomatic relations with the French but refused to get involved in the war in Europe between the French and the British. The Electoral College unanimously elected me, Washington, as the first president in 1789, and again in 1792. I remain the only president to receive the totality of electoral votes. John Adams, who received the next highest vote total, was elected Vice President. When I won the presidential election of 1789 with 69 votes in the electoral college, Adams came in second with 34 votes and became Vice President. Due to a delay in the decision of the electoral college, Adams first presided over the Senate on April 21.

Benjamin Franklin and His Enemies Summary Robert Middlekauff starts off by introducing Benjamin Franklin as a well-mannered and civic-minded individual who is loved by everyone. Of course, Benjamin Franklin was a little bit reserved when it came to strangers, but that never stopped people from growing fond of him. His good heart and spirit lead him to amazing people like Margaret Stevenson (Polly), John Adams, William Strahan, and Thomas Jefferson to name a few. Besides from having a well-liked personality Robert Middlekauff also reveals that Benjamin Franklin was a curious man who came equipped with an outstanding resumé.

John Adams born in Quincy, Massachusetts on October 30th, 1735. Adams was smart all his life. A the age of 16, because of his intelligence he was offered a scholarship to Harvard University. When he then graduated in 1755, and study at Harvard University. At the age of 20, John Adams was studying in law to become a lawyer.

In 1770 John was elected to be one of the five to represent the colony at the first continental colony. In 1777 he became head of the board and, this board oversaw the continental colony. He then became he became the first U.S minister to England, in 1785. John was placed on the first ballot for American presidential election in 1789. He lost but he was the vice president to George Washington.

In 1758 Adam began to study law under a man named James Putnam. He would teach during the day and study law during the night. While dedicating his life to law, he missed out on proposing to a woman he loved, she became tired of waiting on him and married another man. Poor Adams. Although all his hard work did not pay off immediately because his first case came when his neighbors had been feuding for years, and he lost.
