John Adams: A True President

John Adams accomplished a lifetime of achievements, starting as a Harvard Graduate and later becoming the second president of the United States of America, fought in the American Revolution and is today known as one of America's’ Founding Fathers. John Adams was born in Braintree, Massachusetts,on the 30th of October, 1735. John Adams Sr. and Susanna Boylston were his parents, Adams was the oldest. Elihu Adams, his young brother, fought as a soldier in the Continental army while The Revolutionary war was occuring. Adams was a brilliant man, he was accepted to Harvard at age 16, four years later he graduated with a degree in law.

Some accomplishments such as the establishment of the Army and Navy military systems are still remembered nowadays. It was for this reason that he obtained the nickname of “The Father of the American Navy”. Defense was crucial in Adams’ opinion, and oceans needed to be properly surveilled and secured. The undeclared naval “Quasi-War” was a huge threat that he needed to take into careful consideration. Adams also enacted policies that were unfavorable and controversial such as the Alien and Sedition Acts.

Many people know about the United States first president, George Washington, but do they know about the second president, John Adams. John Adams was not a very liked president because Washington set the bar for the presidency pretty high. Adams was not a liked president for many reasons like the trouble with french, including setting off the XYZ affair, signing Jay’s Treaty, and sending the war fever through the United States, and one of the other reasons why Adams was not liked was the Alien and Sedition acts which violated the state's rights. The United States was having trouble with France because of the XYZ Affair, Jay’s Treaty, and a lot of people having war fever in the United states.

George Washington, the best president there was, he supported the country in many ways, whether it was his time in the military, being an outstanding diplomat, his itelligence, or preparing the United States for what it is today. Washington could have had absolute power over the people of the United States, instead he helped established the rules and laws to ensure it will be a free country. He had great communication skills considering he was a founding father and worked well with many other people. He put his heart and soul into this country always, he had intentions to make this country the best.

George Washington was America’s most essential man. He experienced the loss of his father at a young age, yet he became a successful plantation owner, a major in the Virginia militia, a politician, a general and the first president of the United States of America. Though he experienced many adversities in life he was able to take these experiences and use them to better a country. George Washington created a new government for the United Sates of America in his own image which was moral, fair and responsible because of his own life experiences as a general, politician and entrepreneur. George Washington was born on February 22nd, 1732.

George Washington is considered the third best president of all time. During his eight year reign as president he established what we know today as precedents. He was the first president to serve to terms and no other president has with the exception of Franklin Delano Roosevelt who served for four terms years during the Great Depression and World War II. Under his administration the first cabinets or bureaucracies, the Secretary of State and Treasury, were created, the addition of the Bill of rights to the Constitution, the passing of the Neutrality Act, Hamilton’s Economic Plan, and Jay’s and Pickney’s Treaty. Washington also coined the oh so popular phrase “Mr. President.”

John Adams born in Quincy, Massachusetts on October 30th, 1735. Adams was smart all his life. A the age of 16, because of his intelligence he was offered a scholarship to Harvard University. When he then graduated in 1755, and study at Harvard University. At the age of 20, John Adams was studying in law to become a lawyer.

James Monroe vs John Adams James Monroe was the most effective president. This president was a good choice for the United States at the time of his presidency because he created the Monroe Doctrine and stopped European countries from getting land from South and North America. He also got Florida and got more land to build America. His reasoning for buying Florida and creating the Monroe Doctrine is because of how Spain and other European countries wanted to take over more land from the United States. Monroe was worried about this, so he brought Florida and made the Monroe Doctrine to make sure other countries like Spain can’t get more land for both South and North America.

The greatest president that has ever served the United States is George Washington. He was not only the first president of the United States but also the commander in chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He was victorious over the British and quickly became a hero doing so. He helped draft the constitution and with his leadership and courage. As first president, he become a role model for every other present succeeding him and helped create our countries values that we cherish so much today.

When the year of 1807 came around, the way that America elected a president changed. In previous elections, only the rich men were able to vote which as a result whoever promised more the wealth was elected for president. When the common man was able to vote in 1807, the type of candidate to win the election change. As seen in the election of 1828 the person who was more relatable to the people, won because the common man was able to vote and so they used that opportunity and elected whoever they thought was going to help them. Overall the people preferred Jackson over Adams because Jackson was able to relate to the people better, and because he was a symbol of the American dream.

In my opinion, Andrew Jackson was a good president because he was one of the most successful and interesting presidents. The Common Man always held special place in America, but with Jackson, he rose to the top of the American political power system. In the campaign of 1828, Jackson, know as “Old Hickory,” triumphed over the aristocratic, reclusive and unpopular incumbent President John Quincy Adams. Andrew Jackson was also the only President of the United States to pay off the national debt on January 8, 1835. Jackson’s strong personality and controversial way incited the development of an opposition party, the Whigs.

Even though George Washington met all the requirements to be the best antebellum president. Andrew Jackson and Thomas Jefferson performed exceptional during their presidency in office. Thomas Jefferson was the founding father of the Declaration of Independence. He economically managed the U.S by cutting the budget of the Navy and Army investments,cut the tax off whiskey in unpopular areas and decreased debt nationally. Everything Jefferson planned to do, he made sure it happened.

John Adams was the second President of the United States. In George Washington’s Farewell Address, he stated numerous warnings. I believe that in his presidency, Adams did not heed all of Washington’s warnings. One reason that I believe Adams did not heed the warnings Washington issued is because he was part of a political party.

A hero is defined as a person who is caring, honorable, and put others’ needs before theirs. John Adams is a great example of a this. John Adams was born on October 20th, 1735 in Massachusetts. He graduated from Harvard University in 1755, where he earned his undergraduate and master's degrees. In 1764, John Adams married Abigail Smith and they had six children.

Over hundreds of years America has had many presidents, some able to complete the tasks at hand, but many were not worthy of leading this nation. President Abraham Lincoln was one of the few who led the United States of America with great strength and courage. Abraham Lincoln was the best U.S. president because he had a great impact on ending slavery and he was one of the greatest natural strategists and leaders of all time. Abraham Lincoln is considered to be America 's wisest president. Abraham Lincoln, "proved to be a shrewd military strategist and a savvy leader during what became the costliest conflict ever fought on American soil."
