He heard that Rosa Parks had sat in the front of the bus where only the whites sit and refused to move, and she got arrested. Once he heard that and saw all of the other things going around how the whites were treated better than the blacks he decided to recite his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. Hundreds of thousands of people came to hear his speech in Washington where everyone gathered around the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 1963.
