Nikola Tesla Nikola Tesla was an ingenious inventor. He did many amazing things in his career. He had great influences. He worked with the most renowned inventor in history. Let’s get into the life of one of the most important inventors in the world!
Nikola Tesla was born on July 10, 1856 in Smiljan, Croatia. He had A father, a mother, and four siblings. His father was a Serbian orthodox priest and writer. His mother worked at home and in her spare time she made household appliances. Nikola’s father tried to get him into the church but he followed science due to his mother sparking his interest.

After years of trying to draw attention to his invention, he grew tired and moved to America. Tesla Showed up with little but the clothes on his back and a letter of introduction to the famed inventor Thomas Edison. Edison hired Tesla. Nikola Tesla worked with Edison tirelessly on Edison’s inventions, making improvements and making new inventions. After a short while the two parted ways due to a difference in personality and perspective.
After Nikola parted ways with Edison he received the funding for the Tesla Electric Lighting Company. His investors tasked him with improving arc lightning. After successfully doing so, he was forced to do hard labor to survive. His luck picked up in 1887 when he found interest in his AC electrical system and funding for his new Tesla Electric Company. By the end of the year, Tesla had successfully filed several patents for his AC based Inventions. Eventually his AC system caught the eye of engineer and businessman George Westinghouse. Westinghouse was searching for a way to supply the country with long-distance power. Convinced that Tesla’s system would help him with is mission, Westinghouse paid him $60,000 in cash and stock in the
