He did not begin his career in inventing until 1884 when he Got his first patent for an improved design of a steam boiler furnace. Even though his tough childhood may have held him back at first it is very possible that it was the reason that he made all of these inventions that so many of us use

The second person I chose was Archimedes. He too, had many outstanding achievements and features, but I’m only highlighting two important things. He had created some of the first and most famous simple machines; the pulley, lever, and fulcrum. They are actually still used today, and they are amazing inventions for his time.

It demonstrated the principles of the rotating magnetic field. He made a metal egg spin by using electricity. Tesla is mainly known for his modified version of the light bulb. Most of them became well known, either during life or posthumously, but others were and continue to be denied the recognition and appreciation they deserve. Amongst the latter is Serbian-American inventor Nikola Tesla, who changed America through his inventions, such as the Tesla coil, his advancements in electrical supply, especially the use of alternating current, and his groundwork for technological concepts which were later developed after his death, including x-rays, radar, and wireless communication. His ideas and creations were revolutionary for their time and many of them are still used abundantly today. Being an inventor, the first point which should be addressed is his inventions.

His accomplishments in the field of science truly changed the way people saw the world. Franklin’s kite experiment proved to us that lightning is in fact electricity. He invented the lightning rod soon after which protected homes and buildings from lightning (History.com).

He never gave up no matter what happened and kept pushing through to show the world what he was capable of. Nikola Tesla was well known for his invention of the alternating current and also the Tesla coil. If it had not been for Nikola Tesla, the world would not have been so advanced in today’s technology. One year after opening, it was deemed the largest testing laboratory in the world. Thomas Edison was a creative inventor that pushed the science world forward 100 years by inventing the lightbulb, quadruplex transmitter, telegraph, helping with the making of the telephone and much more. Plus he had a major positive impact on his decade by serving in the civil war, saving lives and creating jobs. He also had a major impact on the world by allowing safe lasting light with the light bulb, easy communication with the telegraph, and electrical distribution.

Stephen Snyder commented on how several people know Tesla because of, “the fancy new car that bears his name, not for his many stunning accomplishments.” Interestingly, Snyder goes on to talk about how Edison stole the attention from Tesla, even thought it was Tesla who won the “War of the Currents,” but there are other theories as to why Tesla isn’t known. Some believe that Tesla was very secretive about his works, while others think that Edison gets more credit simply because he was an American (Scrivener). Nobody knows for sure why one of the most world-changing people in history goes unnoticed, but as time progresses, more people realize how much of their work, school, and personal life has to do with technology and how they could not imagine a world without those things. His improvements and inventions on objects that were already invented helped the lives of over millions of Americans. He helped to build America’s economy during some of its more vulnerable years as a new nation. Thomas Edison’s inventions have helped to advance our society though his dedications and knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and chemical sciences.

Nikola Tesla didn’t exactly become the most inspiring or famous inventor, but with the way he impacted modern life, he certainly seems like he should be the one to do it. His creations were part of the movement to change the lives of many around the world. Tesla even theorized and created the form of electric transmission, which beat that of Thomas Edison and still remains the world’s choice. All said, Nikola Tesla may have single-handedly changed the way we live today with his countless inventions and innovations in technology, impacting our lives with products like radio transmission and the alternating-current system. Leading to Nikola Tesla’s success as an inventor was simply how effective he was with his inventions and how effective the inventions were.
