L.B physical ability seems to be fair she were not able to swing on the swing set while on the playground playing. L.B. were able to balance herself on the walking balance that were also located outside on the playground. I also observed L.B. riding the trikes and throwing a ball. While throwing the ball L.B. were observed using complex body moves. Our textbook mentions that “ By ages 4 through 5, children are quite motoric…..their movements are expansive and include large muscle coordination facilitates balancing, hopping, jumping, climbing, sliding, galloping, skipping and many others” (The Young Child Development from Prebirth Through Age Eight, n.d p.316). L.B. social and emotional skills seems to be ok when I observed her. L.B had some encounters with some of her classmates and also with her teachers. It took her having to be redirected and a couple of times before she were able to follow the classroom rules. However when she were communicating with her classmates she were able to get her point across. Also while playing I observed L.B. saying that she were sorry to one of her classmates. Our textbook states that at the age of 4 and 5 children rely on previously acquired self-comforting strategies to help them cope with uncomfortable or disturbing emotional events. However I do know that when a student is being assessed the teacher is not only learning about the student behaviors however that teacher is also learning about themselves and their behaviors (The Young Child Development from Prebirth Through Age Eight, n.d). When I am working with children this process have taught me to do more assessments and therefore I will be able to learn the child and know specific what the students are capable of doing and I would be able to provide materials and strategies according to their skills and they will be more effective with excellent
Maille completed tasks such as touching her nose with index fingers and eyes closed jumping jacks, jumping in place, pivoting thumb and index fingers, and tapping feet and fingers. Maille showed strength in being able to use both sides of her body while tapping her feet and fingers on same and opposite sides. I did not notice any weakness in Maille with this subtest. Maille scored average in bilateral coordination. Balance is the next subtest under body coordination composite.
There were different theorists that believed that with every behavior comes a reason behind it. These Theories include: Biological, Socio-emotional, and cognitive status. The subject was observed on Saturday 3rd, 2015 at 4 in the afternoon. The subject, Genaro Tijerino, was born on January 14th, 2012, and he 's an American Hispanic three year old boy. He was born in Miami, Florida, his mother is an ESC Teacher and his father works for an import/export company.
It is important to perform multiple assessments for students and track their improvement for concepts they are struggling with to see whether changes in how the information is being relayed need to be made or whether the student needs additional instruction outside of the regular class meeting time. The data collected in the response to intervention process is extremely important because rather than saying this student improved or this student still needs work on certain concepts, it can show you exactly which students are struggling and to what degree, and then it will help teachers within their intervention plan to assess whether the percentage of understanding for the student goes up or down throughout the assessment period. Having hard numbers to relate back to especially over a longer period of time is more effective in helping the teachers modify or adjust the plan to help the students show growth in their
It has been a pleasure to watch and learn about Gracie and children of her age during the short period of Summer Enrichment. She is always very caring when it comes to playing with the other children and helping them out. Being involved with others or allowing others to join her in her play is something that she demonstrated daily. While playing with the stuffed animals or baby dolls she was like a little mother hen to make sure that they would not get hurt through the play. She is very brave when it comes to entering the play of other children.
When review and creating the curriculum for each room the teams of teachers will use the assessments given as a tool to make each classroom developmentally
In the males, muscle mass increases, they are prone to ligament tears, uncalcified bones until after puberty and the cardiovascular pump is not efficient as in adults. I think that B is not meeting the developmental norms because of his delayed motor skills from Marfan syndrome. Additional diagnosis of Marfan syndrome is scoliosis, making him unable to participate in sports due to the sideways curvature that affects his balance and coordination. B. was also diagnosed with a heart murmur that limited his ability to participate in sport activities when compared to other children his age. 5.
CDL Assignment Q3. How do nature and nurture interact with one another to determine the development of an individual? Discuss with specific reference to physical and motor development. The interaction between nature and nurture play an important role in determining the development of an individual as they are interrelated and it is a dynamic interplay between the genes and the external environment which begins at conception and continuous throughout one’s life due to the nature of adaptability and plasticity we as humans possess.
The potential dilemmas between the rights and choices of children and health and safety requirements are that they are entitled to: • Dignity • Safety • Confidentiality • Privacy All children are to be respected in the way that they want to be respected for example if they do not want to be changed on the nappy changing unit but want to be changed on the changing mat on the floor then you need to respect their wish and implement it. All children must be kept safe so you must have everything set up ready like nappy, nappy bag, gloves and wipes before you collect the child for nappy changing time as once they are on the changing bed you cannot move as they may move and fall off. Children may tell you something in confidence but you cannot promise
Observing a group of three-year-olds can be entertaining since they tend to be energetic with their individual personalities starting to show. It was fascinating to see glimpses of their personalities, but what I really enjoyed was watching the pair of twin boys in the group interact with others. I observed a very small Sunday School class of three-year-olds at Conroe Bible Church. There were one girl and the twin boys along with their female teacher.
I incorporate this learned experience daily and learn through each success and discovered area of improvement. Addressing my students needs using a variety of assessment tools has been a beneficial practice to help guide instruction. Students have different learning styles and their strengths and weaknesses are not always apparent using the same methods of assessment. Utilizing formative, standards(goal)-based, anecdotal, observational and benchmarks has driven my instructional programs. The combination of different assessments provides me with a multi-dynamic perspective of my students allowing me to better understand their strengths, weakness and academic needs.
These assessments will allow me to differentiate instruction to help the students demonstrate growth in
Theresa seems to be a little delayed in some areas of physical development, however she is meeting her milestones for her cognitive development. Although, Theresa is progressing slower than others physically, her parents should not be too alarmed. Theresa seems to be on target with her gross motor skills since she is able to walk independently. Theresa is also able to hop and stand on one foot which suggest that she is confident with her gross motor skills.
For that reason, the students will perform an effective assessment such as writing essays, questionnaires of the readings, and a presentation in class, in order to know if they understand the lessons, or if they have problems in the learning process. Afterward, I will analyze the student’s evaluation, and I will determinate which method of teaching is right for the instruction such as classroom activities, homework, and assessment. Furthermore, I am committed to improve myself to achieve all the educational goals.
When testing Tally there were multiple things that she needs work with such as: writing numbers and letter, identifying letters and numbers, sounding out words. But there are things that she tried and did good for her age like: Identifying shapes, colors, her name and writing her name. Her sensory skills seem to be where they need to be for her age. For example her vision seem to be clear due to the fact that she could see the letter, number and shapes during her testing. Her hearing is good, when someone is talking to her she can hear clearly what they are saying.
At the same time, it enhances empathy on those who voluntary care for others. As for physical development, the teacher can alternate between running, jumping and skipping. Children begin to develop these gross motor skills between 3-5 years-old. Hence, reinforcement on something that a child has already accomplished can increase his or
