My cousin was taken from his family and had to do community service until he completed over 100 hours of community service he could not compete in wrestling. That meant that he could not practice for finals. Also, he was forced to choose between football and family. He had to either stay in North Carolina for a chance at a scholarship or go back to Oklahoma to live with his grandmother. He chose family and never got a scholarship and that was very hard on him. He did eventually go to nationals in wrestling and placed fourth, but do to his restriction his family was not allowed to attend. Lastly he was made fun of and forced to focus on his goal. With much focus and hard work he was able to keep in shape, and practice for wrestling on his own, while completing his community
Their first struggle was the case of not having any money for food. Buck was low on food because his owners didn’t have the money to buy nice food for the dogs. In comparison, my father didn’t always have the money to get food and had to salvage the food he already had. Another comparison is how both Buck and my father had to adapt to the new life thrown at them. Buck becomes a leader whether that is with his dog sled team, or his wolf pack.
Many individuals are able to succeed because they are willing to fight for what they want. Doing this they are shoulding perseverance. Perseverance in other words means to not give up. The novel “Call of the Wild” Buck shows perseverance by not giving up his leadership throughout the book when he got his new owners and new sled dog teammates. Even though he had to fight to keep his leadership, Buck never lost the leadership.
Then Buck gets sold to Perrault and Francois, who work for the Canadian government. Then Buck spends a short time with a scotch half breed. Buck then gets sold to the worst owners he will ever have. Their names are Hal, Charles and Mercedes, they are city slickers. Down right horrible masters.
Buck finally learned to trust again and found someone he cared for deeply, even more that the Judge (his first owner). Not only did he find that, he also found a part of him that he didn 't think was in him anymore, the skills he obtained from his savage ancestors that lived before him. My mom gained numerous thing too, she gained a husband, 4 kids and a dog. But mainly she gained something greater than all those things, she gained a better and fuller relationship with
In Call of The Wild, Buck, the main character, is forced to push through treacherous conditions and dangerous situations to achieve his goals, showing his undying perseverance. Buck is able to persevere through everything due to his extreme want to be great at everything he does, no matter the activity. His childhood was mostly about war, god and wrestling. Unfortunately, he witnessed much brutality and bloodshed even at a young age. Soon after his brother’s deaths, his mother left to care for his cousins and never returned.

“Faithfulness and devotion, things born of fire and roof, were his; yet he retained his wildness and wiliness. He was a thing of the wild, come in from the wild to sit by John Thornton’s fire, rather than a dog of the soft Southland stamped with the marks of generations.” (London 76). Buck became a killer, hunting and running with the
Buck powerfully pulls the sled 100 yards and proves Mathewson wrong, winning John Thornton a total of $1600. This money enables Thornton and his men to go to the secret lost mine and pay of certain debts. Buck is a hero in this situation because he knows that he has to do something important for his master, and he succeeds greatly by making Thornton a sizable amount of money in less than 5 minutes. Buck would not have shown this sort of commitment for his master if he was surely barbaric. Overall, he shows an act of heroism by his amazing achievement and when he makes Thornton’s ambition of going to the lost mine come

He becomes more of a wolf than just a dog by the end of the book. My sisters Brook and Sophia both persevered from an experience with their father. It took them forever to make it all the way and even now there is still healing to do but they made it past the hard part. Buck and my sisters stories have a lot in common. They also have a lot of things that are different.
Buck is being called into the wild. His life events changed who he was and sent him free in spirit and body. Once Thornton was kill Buck was able to be free and just be a wild dog with the others (napierkowski). In my opinion, this book shouldn’t have been in the category of banned and challenged books.
He encountered many confrontations and adventures in the wild, but Buck still remains the leader due to his strength. He has gone through many situations, lost his team, and his recent master. Suddenly, they saw its back end drop down, ‘you poor devil’, said John Thornton and Buck licked his
His fate changes when Buck puts his trust into the wrong hands. As Jim Rohn once said, “It is not what happens that determines the major part of your future... it is what you do about what happens that counts.” Buck, the main character in the novel The Call of the Wild, is a victim of life 's many unexpected obstacles. From domesticated and tamed to wild and primitive, the transformation of Buck from beginning to end is a result of nature and nurture combined. Nature, his genetic makeup, proves to be the most dominant in his development of becoming a free creature of the wilderness.
