Rough Draft Cross country is probably the simplest sport anyone will ever play. All they need is a pair of sneakers and a water bottle. The team runs together, but also as individuals. Cross country is great because even though it is hard, it will help make runners stronger and better at other sports they play. It helps them because after doing it for a while, they will have more endurance. Running cross country will help people run farther faster without getting tired. It feels like it just flies by in seconds. Races can be very hard if runners haven't trained though. They have to set a good pace for themselves. If they don't, racers might run way too fast in the beginning and then get tired and won't be able to keep running. This sounds silly, but runners will also have to make sure their shoes are on tight so they don't fall off. If they do, racers shouldn't stop for them, they should just keep going. After you finish they can go get them. When runners are done with the race, they should stretch so they aren't sore the next day. Also they must eat salty and sugary foods after the run. The salt will help make up for all the sweat racers lost running and the sugar will give them energy. In the end, cross country is a very rewarding sport. It helps you become stronger and conditions you for other sports. It also helps you with endurance and never giving up. There we were, in Houston Texas, Dejah, Aniya, and I were warming up, practicing handoffs in tent city. We had made it to the Houston Texas AAU National Junior Olympics. It was No Limits Track Club’s second to last day on our eight day trip. It was the most competitive day of them all. It was time for the four by one hundred meter relay.

What he’s trying to say is, you cannot just go outside and run a distance like that. You have to prepare your body and practice until you feel ready to race. You can train in different ways.
Being an athlete takes raw talent, drive and time management in a busy life. Throughout my career as an athlete at Sutton Memorial high school I have participated in some of the most demanding sports including cross country indoor and outdoor track. Being on these teams for over six years I have had the honor of seeing legends rise and fall. Athletics are important but academics are still crucial to my future, and my secondary education. I have recently been accepted and admitted to Bryant university to enroll in their accounting/ CPA program to complete my interests in business and enable my future career as an accountant.
Running is the absolute best way of thinking about life and it gets a person to become calm and no one could possibly take that away from someone. Aim so high and train so hard that you know that when you shoot that bow and arrow that you will be so great that you crush your goal. Don't ever be afraid to set your goals high and follow them. Most athletes have a special workout or routine that they do before and after they compete. Not every athlete does the same workout or routine because each event that an athlete is entered in has a different way of warming up and cooling down.
Through the miles we have developed a strong camaraderie and passion for the sport. I would give up all of my other activities to keep running cross-country.
This shows that travel sports can lead to a high level in that sport. Not only are the kids playing the sport they love, they are learning about other countries. Furthermore, people find out that kids benefit early on from playing travel sports as kids. An article illustrates that Don Westfall, the general Manager of the Connecticut Sportsplex in North Branford, wrote how they are realizing that kids are better athletes at a higher level because they began playing that support at a young age. They have improved those skills through travel sports with a higher level of training (Kountz).
It gets your heart healthier because running makes your heart beat faster. Lacrosse also makes your lungs expand, which is healthy for you. You expand your lungs whenever you are running. Lastly you do a lot of stretching. Stretching is healthy because it helps stop you from pulling a muscle.

And we were off; All 13 of our runners and 55 of theirs exploding off the starting line and across the field. I was in front, I always was for about the first 100 yards, then a wave of runners passed me and I settled in to where I was supposed to be. The light rain hit my face and body as I pushed through the 3.1 mile course. Although I had no shot at winning, I hoped my teammates in front of me were giving it all they had, albeit they most likely weren’t doing much better. After settling into a rhythm, I started to battle with a runner near me.
To be successful in anything you must first put forth effort both inside and outside of “the classroom.” This simply means just running alone doesn’t produce greatness, you must become stronger by lifting weights and doing ab workouts to set you apart from everyone else. The next thing to think about before the track meet is the weather. Once the week of arrives it is important to constantly check the weekend’s forecast to be aware of how to dress. This step is very important because this sport usually begins late January which is cold in most areas, so layering is a must.

Cross country is a sport just like football, volleyball, basketball,ect. People saying cross country is a waste of time and bad for the body makes me rethink their intelligence especially if they are an athlete. This single story used to upset me and make me very frustrated; however, I've learned to let them state their opinions.
Zac O’Neal Kines 2500 Try Something New Assignment For the try something new assignment, I decided that I wanted to try trail running. Growing up I played plenty of physically demanding games that required quite a bit of running around, such games include lacrosse and soccer. However, in these games, running is not something to take joy in or to do for the sake of running, running was to be done in order that one could get better at the overall sport.
Running is wonderful for your health. You burn a lot of calories off. It is exercise for your body too. Also, you need to healthy meal/ snack before running. In Cross country and Track you need to motivate yourself.
My first experience with track was at the age of 15. At that time I was practicing soccer. I was a very chubby kid compared to my teammates. I has good soccer skills, but couldn’t ever catch up with them. So my coach suggested for me to join the track and field team.
