1) You lose yourself in the beat of your footsteps.
When you run, you can feel the energy throughout your body. There is no other feeling in the world like running. Everything around you seems inconsequential. The sounds of your footsteps fades away all your problems and make you feel free. Eventually, you can only hear the sounds of your footsteps and the beating of your heart. There is no way to mess up when you run. Above all, the best feeling while you run is the peace.
2) No one is watching you.
As you run you may feel insecure as if someone is judging you. Not everyone is in the best shape. Just know that when you’re running people are not judging you. You may receive an occasional glance or two but soon the person removes their eyes off of you. Many people are insecure but you can’t let that affect you from doing something you love, running.
3) You lose weight.
As I began to run more often you could see the

First, you must always breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. If you breathe in through your mouth and out through your nose it will be harder for you to gain enough oxygen while you run. Second, you should set a goal for yourself. Bring a timer and an app or watch that tracks the number of miles or the distance that you run. Third, make sure you wear the proper shoes. If you want the best results for your time and for your feet wear running shoes. The fourth strategy is to pace yourself! If you can manage a pace between sprinting and walking chances are you will have a great time. You can not just sprint because you will get tired easily and you can’t just walk because you will sustain an unpleasant time. Lastly, you should have a partner or something to inspire you to run. If you have a partner you will feel more motivated to run faster and try your best. Anything that inspires you will make you push harder to become better at
To me, running is the greatest feeling I could ever feel. In my elementary days I knew I was the fastest kid on the playground. So naturally when I got to high school track was a must for me. My first track meet I was so nervous it felt like my heart was in my stomach. Then as I set myself up in my blocks, close my eyes, and wait for the gun to go off it was like everything went quiet.
In “Why We Run” the author expresses that there is “nothing quite so savage, and so wild” as running. I think the author is trying to tell me that running makes him feel free. The author describes, “I get choked up when I see a kid, or anyone else, fighting hopeless odds- someone who goes out there to run the lonely roads with a dream in the heart, a gleam in the eye, and a goal in mind.” This author is indicating that he knows the only way people will be able to reach their goal is if they train hard and never take their eyes off the goal they are determined to reach.
Still I first, I begin to slow down in pace. I shouldn't have used up most of my energy in the beginning. I'm only half way done with the the 1600 meter, and I'm going to need to preserve my energy. I decide that I will have to take a small break to "Recharge" my energy. Others are now getting very close now, so I decide my little break is over.
When you run you have to use your mind to know why it is that you’re doing it. Like in the story “Why We Run”, the author describes how running is like chasing a dream. While “most of us chase after ‘antelopes,’ and sometimes we catch them. Often we don’t.
The greatest thing about running or walking a marathon is that finishing is the accomplishment. Getting to the finish line in less time than before, is icing on the

The way I dress is affected by running. I never thought I would wear running shorts when I was in middle school. I thought they looked weird at the time, which most people still think. My friends on the cross country team, however, convinced me into wearing them. Now I wear them
Speeding up At the beginning of the cross country season I hated cross country absolutely hated it, I would walk down the hallway of saline middle school look at all of the pictures on the wall and saw some of kids running and thought why is My mom doing this to me? I thought I was a terrible at it, I would run like a 9 or 10 minute mile. So when the school year came along I dreaded the end of the day I would look at the clock and think a tiny bit longer, please just a wee longer (and that is very very rare.) When the season began I had a lot of trouble, whether it was keeping up or if it was breathing problems, and My friend Zaske (who was and still is much faster than me) was nice enough that instead of going up with all the faster kids he stayed back with me, but even when he was going his slowest I still had trouble keeping up he would try to encourage me by saying “come on Michael just a little faster,” and I would respond with “i'm…
In the story Why We Run, by Bernd Heinrich, he covers this point perfectly. Heinrich wants to know “how to prepare to run that far” (66). What he’s trying to say is, you cannot just go outside and run a distance like that. You have to prepare your body and practice until you feel ready to race. You can train in different ways.
This book does not just focus on one story in particular, but instead follows many different stories of incredible grit and determination as well as human spirit. “As the ravages of potentially debilitating pain take hold, the runner fights to overcome and command the very force that threatens to bring him to his knees” (Karnazes 27). This quote much of the lessons embodied in this novel. His stories really hit home on human perseverance that can be be used for all aspects of life. While this book does focus on running, the lessons can be taken away for other sports and life styles.
However, I cannot allow these negative thoughts to affect me mentally. Thinking negative thoughts will, without a doubt, negatively affect the mindset I go in with on race day as well as my performance. As my coach says, “PMA- Positive mental attitude, that’s what it’s all about!” As an athlete, I have to be independent enough to have the motivation to go through the necessary treatment so that I will be able to return strong, healthy, and confident. Running, for the most part, is an independent sport.
One doesn't always run with their teammate during a race, but it's good to run with them at practice. It doesn't matter how
Running, that word gives many people different emotions that range all the way from disgust to excitement. Most people will say that they would never willingly run, at least not without some motivation and other people might even say that they enjoy it. This is why the sport of cross country is so strange to people, in fact it is strange to me as well that people would willingly run, despite the fact that I actually run cross country. The main reason that people don 't think running is fun is because it is so physically challenging. Running requires you to always be on your game, the slightest injury or distraction can prevent you from doing your best.

Running is generalized by the world as just a way to stay in shape, but Asics shows that this one way of exercising has more to offer than the perks of its weight loss.
