New gun control bills could easily be placed in the ballots, but questioning the ability to have long term affects if much different. Many gun owners are set in old ways and never want to see changes that could affect their way of life. Just like many of the members of the National Rifle Association that believe back ground checks are enough and it should stay that way. Another viewpoint, people believe background checks are insufficient and the government should broaden ways to further secure weapons.

The use of and the owning of guns is a very hot and debated topic in society today. For many, this is a life and death debate due to the recent and numerous school shootings. These school shootings have caused an outcry for more gun control, specifically in relation to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. Despite these calls, increased gun control is not the answer. Most gun owners’ use their guns responsibly and for good purposes.

They can be used to defend and protect as well as to threaten and kill. Guns and crime go together. Every year, Americans are shocked by numerous mass shootings and senseless acts of violence involving guns and weapons. Those shootings throughout the United States have occurred due to weapons being in the wrong hands. People believe by placing new laws to ban guns or to simply limiting the amount you can buy of ammo in a transaction. Along with the background check they run, the responsibility of controlling people using your weapon and you’re responsible if anyone kills or hurt an individual with your gun.

Gun control can help reduce the number of accidental deaths.

Instead of banning or limiting guns, the evidence will show that removing the current restrictions and targeting individuals instead of guns will be a more effective process. The topic of gun control has two polarized opinions. One such opinion targets the individuals responsible for the crime, instead of just the weapons. The number of firearm sales has risen with the number of mass shooting many Americans question if banning guns or certain guns could help decrease the number of gun violence deaths.
