Some people believe that planned parenthood should be shutdown. The main reason is because people believe that abortions are equivalent to the murder of an innocent child. Although people have their disagreements on whether or not planned parenthood should be shutdown, I believe that it is essential to women who need checkups for a low price, need condoms, birth control or abortions. Planned parent hood provides important health checkups such as cancer screening. In poor areas, planned parenthood is the only organization that allows women without health insurance to have checkups. Women like this would have no other option to look for checkups if planned parenthood was to get defunded. Sexual eduction is provided for men, women and teens.
With the attack on Planned Parenthood and regarding the video scandal which blew Planned Parenthood in the spotlight once again, is the problem its self that checking the facts are number one. People are so quick to see a video about an unborn child and act, without checking the facts. With Planned Parenthood they do perform abortions, yes but safe legal abortions they do use tissue and organs from these abortions to do lifesaving scientific research they also don’t mention in the video that the patients and the woman and families they make the decision to donate the fetal tissue, for research “this research should be honored not attacked and demeaned. “ What the facts don’t show in this edited video, which actually the video is over three
I find that just preaching abstinence, as the only way to go is not effective sexual education. It’s key that we teach about birth control and Sexually Transmitted Infections as our society is becoming more sexually active so it’s important that they learn how to have safe sex. Planned Parenthood encourages its patients to make informed decisions and provide an environment where they feel comfortable to ask any questions. If people don’t practice safe sex, they are at risk of getting a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STIs).
There are many other women who do not live as well as myself, who do not have the same privilege as I do. These women need Planned Parenthood to prevent disease and unplanned pregnancies. To pretend that these people do not need Planned Parenthood to stay healthy, to survive, is almost as ludicrous as the notion that Planned Parenthood endorses the killing of innocent lives. Planned Parenthood is much more than abortions. It stands for the rights of women as humans, as people who need help, to improve the lives of those who cannot improve theirs on their own.
A Women’s Right To Make Her Own Healthcare Decisions I am a strong pro-choice Democrat who believes that women must have the freedom to make their own healthcare decisions. The landmark decision of Roe v. Wade ensured that women have the right to decide what happens to their bodies free from governmental legislation. The right for a woman to an abortion is a personal decision that should only be made by the woman through consultation with her friends, family, and medical professionals. Sadly, numerous legislators disagree with this view and continually attempt to limit a woman’s right to choose.
Coloradoan Anti-Abortionist to be charged with Terrorism The police in Colorado is thinking of charging a man, named Dear, with terrorism. Dear have been talking incoherent things about ‘baby parts’ after being arrested and is said to be a very strong anti-abortionist. Dear has been arrested few days back for barging in Planned Parenthood clinic armed and then suddenly opening fire.
Per scheduled meeting with peer counselor, Katherine indicated that she resides in Union City, NJ with mother and younger brother. Katherine is currently uncertain of career goals or majors, but she likes the idea of becoming a Special Education Teacher. She might major in Education and possibly psychology. In high school Katherine was part of an organization called “Unified Students.” There she assisted students with disabilities to play sports.
The goal is to defund Planned Parenthood for a year which means tax payers would stop paying. They want this to stop because this organization supports abortions and they are responsible for more than 300,000 of them per year in which they receive hundreds of millions tax payer dollars (http://www.focusonthefamily.com/socialissues/promos/defund-planned-parenthood). As I’m thinking about the steps in how a bill becomes a law, there are many factors that can help/hurt it. First off, a bill is introduced by a senator or representative (pg. 195).
In light of the recent “controversy” surrounding Bernie Sanders and Planned Parenthood, I feel that it’s necessary to point out the mans incredibly consistent record in support women’s issues and the right to choose. Bernie Sanders is a staunch believer in the fact that women should have the fundamental right to control their bodies when it comes to sexual and reproductive health. He’s received both a 0 percent rating from The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), and a 100 percent rating from NARAL Pro-Choice America. According to The NRLC, Sanders has voted against the pro-life position more than 100 times in his federal legislative career. Let me just quote a couple of things that The NRLC notes about Sanders pro-choice
Hello Mr. Loa, When I originally chose my topic for writing project two, i was stuck between the effects Barbie has on our self-esteem and the federal funding of Planned Parenthood. I chose the topic about Barbie because I figured no one else would do it and it wouldn 't be redundant, but because it is such a unique topic, I 'm having trouble finding articles on it. Would it be okay if I changed my topic to Planned Parenthood, which had ample articles on it? And if I am allowed to change it, would I have to send you another topic proposal memo? Samantha
22 people strongly agreed that the government should fund Planned Parenthood and 54 strongly disagreed with this claim. 40 people somewhat agreed and 42 somewhat disagreed. In all 62 people agreed and 96 disagreed. 28.4% of the men who answered agreed and 12.2% of them strongly agreed.
Imagine living in a world where proper sexual health care and education was unavailable. Imagine not being able to receive information about contraceptives or options for an unexpected pregnancy. Imagine the number of people with sexually transmitted diseases, exceeding the number of people who do not have them, because treatment for STD’s was unavailable. On average 2.7 million men and women visit Planned Parenthood each year, to receive health care, such as STD screening, numerous cancer screenings and various other programs that are available. Planned Parenthood among countless other HealthCare providers is one of the Nation’s leading providers of “high quality, affordable healthcare for women, men and young people, and also the largest provider of sex education”( Planned Parenthood at a glance).
Planned Parenthood is more than a center to receive an abortion, but because of the pro-life versus pro-choice movement, everyone is missing that vital point. It 's not about defeating your opposing enemy anymore, it 's about health care for men and women all over the
Not only are these arguments void given the Hyde amendment prohibits federal funds to be used for abortion, but also insignificant in comparison to the health benefits Planned Parenthood provides. Regardless of opposing arguments, Planned Parenthood must not be defunded due to its essential services regarding sexual and reproductive health care. Although this means that some groups and individuals will have to pay taxes that contribute to something they morally oppose, it is overall beneficial to protect the collective health of the
Three percent of Planned Parenthood’s patient care is dedicated to abortions. However when most people think of Planned Parenthood abortion is the first thing to come to mind. People fail to realize that 35 percent of Planned Parenthoods patient care is dedicated to contraception, and 35 percent is dedicated to treatment of sexually transmitted disease (STD) treatments. Not to mention 16 percent of their care is put towards to cancer screening and treatment. People have come to the conclusion that Planned Parenthood needs to be defunded because they provide abortions, and also because of their involvement in selling fetuses to stem cell research.
External Communications The importance of external communications cannot be measured when it comes to crisis communications. Currently many forms of media is used by companies to communicate with the public, some of the most common ones are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and the most widely used television and radio. In the case of Susan G. Komen’s fallout when they informed Planned Parenthood (PP) that they will be defunding their organization, the actions that were taken prior to the announcement could have avoided what later became a media fiasco that almost destroyed the organization.
