How does a man become a serial killer, necrophilia, cannibal and psychopath? Why was the notorious Jeffrey Dahmer the way he was? Over the past several years we have gained knowledge through a series of test and studies to finally have some psychological answers to that. Dahmer is one of the most famous and talked about serial killers to this day. When looking at Dahmer's past you can clearly see from his childhood where things started to go wrong. Why was the notorious Jeffrey Dahmer the way he was? Now we have answers to these to opposing questions. Jeffrey Dahmer was a sick cruel man who had a troubled childhood that was very lonely. Dahmer is a prime example of the fact that someone's upbringing has a immense affect on their psychological state. From a young age Dahmer exhibited almost all of the 9 early stages of a serial killer; Antisocial Behavior, Arson, Torturing Small Animals, Poor family life, Childhood abuse, Substance abuse, Voyeurism, Intelligence, and Shiftlessness. Out of 9 early signs, Dahmer clearly shown 7 of them (9 Early Warning Signs for Serial Killers). Dahmer had these feelings and violent fantasies and instead of ignoring them, he acted them out. I don’t think that you could possibly categorize Jeffrey Dahmer under one of the many types of serial killers. He was afraid of himself.
