Ronald Reagan is a man of many talents, whether its on the big screen in movies of in the white house running the country. Being a great young actor in hollywood wasn't enough for him. H decided to give it all up to go into politics and eventually become the 40th president of the United States during one of our countries darkest periods. These aspects of Reagan's life are probably the most important and distinguished accomplishments for him.
Reagan was born on February 6, 1911 in Tampico, Illinois too Nelle and John Reagan. He grew up in Dixon Illinois, where upon graduation form high school he got a a job as a radio sports host which landed him a screen-test shortly after. After the screen test in 1937 he won a contract in Hollywood and his acting career was off ( Ronald ). Over the next three decades, he appeared in more than 50 films. In 1987 he forged a diplomatic relationship with Mikhail Gorbachev chairman of the Soviet Union. That same year the U.S. and the Soviet Union signed a historic agreement to eliminate intermediate range nuclear missiles. Later that year Reagan spoke at the Berlin wall a symbol of communism and challenged Gorbachev to tear down the wall “ Mr. Gorbachev tear down that wall”. 2 years later he allowed the people to dismantle the wall. This is considered a symbol of the fall of the Soviet Union and the end of communism. ( Biography)
To this day Reagan is considered by many to be one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history. He helped Bring an end to the era of communism.
