In 1941, Reagan was drafted into the Army, where he spent most of his time on the Army Air Cores First Motion Picture. He was drafted as a Second Lieutenant, and he avoided combat because he was nearsighted. He worked on films and training videos for the new recruits throughout his army career. The Air Core requested he was involved in a film called Rear Gunner to help the war effort. This film was probably the most important film he was involved with during his time in the Army. Reagan met Jane Wyman to the set of Brother Rat. They formed a budding romance and got married on January 26, 1940.
