To where have all the black-footed ferrets disappeared? The black-footed ferrets have been endangered since 1967 in the southwestern corner of North Dakota due to loss of habitat and a depletion of their prime food source. First of all, the prairie dogs and the other animals that lived in their homes were the ferrets prime source of food. Secondly, the ferrets, like many other animals, used the prairie dogs’ burrows as homes.
In Urban area many animals are adapting to walking/running on concrete. This means that in the event that world destruction was to occur and these animals were forced to run and catch food on their own in the wild it will be a great struggle for them. Animals have adapted to sponging off of the garbage put out by us humans to go to a waste land which is also very detrimental to the environment. Along with many animals adapting to different types of "land" there are also a handful of animals who were not able to adapt and sadly died

The population of arctic foxes, therefore, depends on the population of lemmings and the population of lemmings depend on the amount of plants they eat there are. One such reptile that has adapted to the Sonoran Desert is the Desert Tortoise (Gopherus agassizii). Initially, the Desert Tortoise was thought to live solely in the Mojave and Sonoran Deserts, but recent findings have questioned whether the tortoises living in the Mojave are the same species as the tortoise living in the Sonoran. For instance, the Mojave Desert Tortoise makes its burrow in valley bottoms, whereas the Sonoran Desert Tortoise finds pre-existing cracks or crevices on steep, eat-facing slopes to burrow in. The tortoises found in the Sonoran have flatter shells than those of the Mojave. Scientists have considered two possible theories as to why the tortoises could be different: one being climate differences, the other being a more aggressive tortoise that forced the Sonoran Gopherus agassizii to nest higher off the ground.
This causes hardship for the snow leopards because it causes their area to shrink making it harder to catch their prey as they are able to blend in more. This impacts their survival rate because the weather conditions are leading them to get less

It took four days of sneaking through bushes, trees and rocks jutting into our skin, hiking around for hours trying to find herds of antelope, and consistently calling, with the intentions to find something, yet failing around every turn. This brutal hunt wasn’t for nothing though, in fact, let me introduce the story that changed my life forever. Welcome to the great antelope hunt.
