History is changing constantly each day, the past is unchangeable while the future is unsure. Mistakes were made in the past, rewards and consequences are waiting in the future. Humans learned history to try not to repeat past mistakes that were made by many famous figures. They become historians in hope to learn about the past and fulfill the thirst of many unanswered questions. Historians used many resources to help decipher the past and evidence to shape the history today. By comparing facts different resources, the historians want to make sure the evidence is correct in writing history. They try to find evidence to what happened in the past and recreate the chronological orders of events. For example, historians are still trying to find the cause of Silas Deane’s death. The older generations have different views from the younger generations. Older generations are passionate about certain topics and lived through some events and have more emotions tied to the events. An example is the old generation would think that John Brown was insane because he “execute in cold blood five men.” Some older generations are stubborn because they are not use to change and prefer to stay with familiarity.
Younger generations are somewhat open-minded due to ideas passed down from families and learned from histories. The younger generations accept new ideas easily and change through rapidly to fit to society. The exposure of ideas started when children are very young and still continue to influence them until now. When learning in class, they were shunned from bad stuff when was child, hence, the heroes were heroificated. Later in life, they learned more facts about the heroes and have their opinions
History - the study of past events, particularly in human affairs. Asking me to write about the History of Flagger Force is like asking me to write my autobiography. I say this because I am officially the longest tenured operations employee in King of Prussia. Much like we say every member of our field staff remembers their first week on the job, I remember my first week on the job also.
When thinking about history in the past, I have always believed that it was straightforward. I knew that if I wanted to know something, I had to find the sources that contained the information. I had never thought about how that information came to be or why the author chose to include the information that he did. Reading “The Strange Death of Silas Deane,” helped me to see that everything is not as straightforward as it seems, and in order for you to completely have a full picture of something, you need to know all the information that is surrounding it.

Madi Kelley ENGL- 2413 Response 5 Time travel is a very well-known science-fiction topic that many are drawn to, perhaps due to the mystery of time travel and what could be discovered, or perhaps simply to experience a time that you do not belong to, or just as simple as wanting to figure out who it works. The possibility of time travel opens up many questions about what would happen if someone was able to travel back in time such as, what would happen if you let an ancestor die that was not supposed to die yet or tell someone anything about the future or their life, or something even as minuscule as moving a chair could throw the whole future for a loop. However, by using time travel could historians learn more about the motives of
History is a novel idea that has been a continuous idea throughout our time in class. We have gone over what history means to us, the students; as well as the authors and filmmakers we have studied. For me, before this class, History merely meant what we
After imitating this strategy, I learned that historians must be able to narrow down the information they are provided and choose only the specific details that is most valuable to the topic under investigation. However, this may come at an expense. It is difficult to decide what is valuable and what is insignificant, and there will always be some useful details that may be left
She uses stereotypes as one way to prove how predecessor generations feel about millennials, stating that they are just narcissistic, self-absorbed, opinionated, whiny individuals who are uneducated, lack focus and are not responsible (Ellin 205). The main rivalry is between the baby boomers and the millennials because they have opposing perspectives and characteristics. “Millennials have self-confidence and assuredness, and these characteristics can be off-putting to people in older generations who feel that because of their age and experience young people should be more deferential towards them”, says Julie Coates, an adult-learning specialist in River Falls, Wisconsin (Ellin 208).

This is closely related to experience. Of course, different people will have different perspectives - based on their experiences and life. Different perspectives can also be caused by age, gender, or race - how the character has been treated because they are of a particular faction and may be inferior. To add on, the difference between an old and young character is their vocabulary and choice of words, as well as their understanding of the events unfolding around them. Young characters may use slang and informal or simple language, and may not know their circumstances well.
History books writers want to “soften” the past by rewriting the past by taking out important facts and details. No more false history. “The state of Texas voted to soften slavery roles.” (Isensee 2015). The reason why
History does not always convey the absolute truth. It offers only one side of the story. The strong and powerful voices always drown out the sounds of the weak and beaten. The winner’s word will always be taken over the loser’s. The content that lies within the textbooks was not written by the defeated.
My favorite mistake is one that I didn’t even consider a mistake at the time, maybe more of a mishap, or just one part of a long series of unfortunate events. But, looking at it in hindsight, I can tell you it was a mistake, definitely a mistake. It occurred on a beautiful, warm Saturday in May; school had just ended and life was looking up as summer was fast approaching with its promise of fun and sunshine. I was spending this gorgeous day with my mom and grandma out shopping for my brother’s graduation party, which was to occur the next day. ; and, wWe had just walked out of the Chesterfield Valley Olive Garden when I had the brilliant idea of convincing my mom to let me drive home.
