JonBenet Ramsey was a 6-year-old beauty queen. On December 26, 1996 around 5:45am JonBenet’s mother, Patsy Ramsey, discovered a two page and a half note sitting on the steps inside the house after noticing that JonBenet wasn’t in her bed. The ransom note stated that they had their daughter held hostage, and the only way to get her back is if they give them $118,000. When the police showed up they started to investigate the whole house. By 1:00pm the detectives and investigators still haven't found any evidence. Detective Linda Arndt told fleet White and JonBenet’s father, John Ramsey, to search around to see if anything was out of line. The two men searched around the house until they reached the wine cellar in the basement. In there, they discovered JonBenet’s body. With a fractured skull and a bruised neck from stranglement, JonBenet was pronounced dead. After JonBenet’s body was collected, the investigators gathered the evidence. What they found made it seem JonBenet’s family were suspects. According to a documentary, the ransom note was written on paper that belonged to the Ramsey’s; the duct tape that was used to bind her was consisted with fibers they found on Patsy’s clothing. Patsy was being accused of writing the note herself. Handwriting experts stated that the note was in the tone of …show more content…
Karr gave a long descriptive confession of how he committed the crime. He claimed that he had been in the house for a long time, so he had time to write such a long ransom letter. Karr was arrested for child pornography charges, and claimed that he was in love with JonBenet and had killed her for sexual reasons. Soon after, the charges were dropped because their wasn’t any evidence of how the strangle had occurred. The DNA found on JonBenet’s underwear did not match Karr’s. Investigators stated that the evidence Karr provided didn’t add up to what actual injuries JonBenet suffered
Some think the family wrote the note since it seemed to have been rewritten several times, but the intruder was most likely trying to write the best paper without giving any hints to as who it might be. The note gave them the option to have their child returned as said by CNN Library,“JonBenét's mother, Patsy, says she found a ransom note demanding $118,000 for JonBenét's return,” ("JonBenet Ramsey"). The note had a time on it, the family couldn't call the police, but had to wait for a phone call. The majority think that since they never got a call, the family must have done it, but instead, it could have been the killers focusing on the escape. Hive provides us with key information about the note, “The ransom note warned the couple not to contact the police but to await a phone call between 8 and 10 that morning,” ("JONBENET RAMSEY").
JonBenet was the six-year-old daughter of Pasty and John Ramsey (Saferstein, 2015). This family, including JonBenet’s nine year old brother Burke, lived in Boulder, Colorado and sometime during December 25-26, 1996, JonBenet was murdered most likely inside the home (Saferstein, 2015). Pasty Ramsey maintains after a party with friends and family she put JonBenet to
JonBenet Ramsey was born on August 6th 1990, in Atlanta, Georgia to parents Patsy Ramsey and father John Ramsey, and a brother burke who was three years older than her. She attended kindergarten at High Peaks Elementary School in Boulder, Colorado. she was a child beauty pageant Queen from America who was killed in her family home at the age of 6 on December 25th 1996. her body was found in the basement 8 hours after she was reported to the police by patsy ramsy as missing. she was found with a broken skull from a hit to the head and was strangled to death with a rope that was found tied around her neck.
Both John and Patsy Ramsey submitted handwriting samples to the police shortly after JonBenét was killed. Investigators ruled out John as the writer of the note, but Patsy’s handwriting has kept her under suspicion. In 2008 when new DNA evidence revealed that they were not the killers. John Mark Karr was arrested for the murder after he confessed to killing JonBenét in 2006. At the time, handwriting analyst Curt Baggett claimed that Karr was the writer of the letter, based on a comparison to an entry written by Karr in a yearbook.
JonBenét Ramsey, a six-year-old beauty queen daughter of Patsy Ramsey and John Ramsey found murdered in her home on December 26, 1998. This murder has yet to be solved, and as the years go by, the case seems to get colder and colder. As a result, there have been many conspiracy theories in this case. Many people have started to believe that an intruder murdered her, but what if it was someone in the house? Maybe someone very familiar with this home.
The first thing to be examined is the broken window in Ramsey’s playroom. Then the body of JonBenet Ramsey was discovered in a wine cellar in the basement also discovered by the body was a Barbie nightgown with the victim’s blood on it as well as a baseball bat and rope in a paper bag found in different areas of the house. Therefore, Mr. Ramsey had to pay withdrew one hundred and eighteen thousand dollars from his account if he didn’t do so the kidnappers would kill JonBenet Ramsey. I am very familiar with this tragic event that occurred December 26, 1996 in the Ramsey household. JonBenet Ramsey was located in her basement home where her father John, her mother Patsy and brother Burke also lived. Before her lifeless body was discovered Patsy found a ransom note in the home demanding a large sum of money. It was shown that JonBenet’s skull was fractured, she had been strangled and molested. There was blood located in JonBenet’s underwear that did not belong to her.
The disturbing case of JohnBenet Ramsey, a little girl who did not deserve anything that happened to her. Despite the rumors and tales about the cold case of Ramsey, her story is truly terrifying. JohnBenet was a little girl who went missing in her home, and later was found in her basement. It is said she died of strangulation and skull fracture. In addition to those, many more things were done.
JonBenet was in several pageants and was known all over the nation for her glittery costumes and performances, by the time of her demise she had five titles to her name: Little Miss Colorado, Little Miss Charlevoix, Colorado state All-Star kids Covergirl, American Royal Miss, and National Tiny Miss Beauty(Worthen). On the morning of December 26, 1996, a call was received: Patsy Ramsey had called police early that morning to report JonBenét missing. Patsy had found a ransom note demanding $118,000 and promising that the kidnappers would contact the Ramseys before 10:00 a.m.( Puffer-Rothenberg) she was found strangled with a fractured skull in the basement of her parents home hours after the kidnappers did not call (Puffer-Rothenberg). Upon completion of the report, it is clear that an examination of the unsolved murder is necessary. No stone will be left unturned; no avenues left unexplored.
Born on August 6, 1990, in Atlanta, Georgia, JonBenet Ramsey was the daughter of a socialite and a wealthy business-man (JonBenet Ramsey, n.d.). She was a 6-year-old beauty queen who was found murdered in her parents’ Boulder, Colorado, home on December 26, 1996. Still unsolved, the murder led to one of the most publicized police investigation of the 1990’s. Patsy Ramsey called the police after she noticed that her daughter, JonBenet was not in bed and finding the ransom note demanding $118,000. JonBenet body was later discovered in the basement that afternoon.
Starting with Patsy going downstairs to make coffee like she always did. While walking down the stairs, Patsy noticed the ransom note waiting for her, explaining that if they followed directions they would safely get JonBenet back. When police officer Rick French arrived at the Ramsey home around 6 a.m. he did a search routine for what he thought was a kidnapping. “From the beginning [French thought] it was obvious that [he] was called to investigate what was initially reported as a kidnapping [which] allowed contamination of evidence that might have been found at the crime scene” (Church). When the police left to get the search warrant to search the house, Patsy called some of her friends to come over and grieve with them.
JonBenet Ramsey who was a young loving beauty queen of Colorado, who’s live was taken way too early. JonBenet was murdered in her home in Boulder Colorado on December 26, 1996 at the age of six. After completing my research, I was able to make a prediction of who I believed murdered the incent child, and it did not take much research to see the mistakes made by the Boulder Police Department. The Boulder Police Department made numerous mistakes in the JonBenet Ramsey case.
Later that afternoon John Ramsey discovered JonBenet’s body covered in blanket on the basement floor, and John tore off a piece of duct tape used to cover JonBenet’s mouth before carrying her upstairs (Agrawal, 2016). Since the crime scene was compromised, investigators were forced to process physical evidence that was contaminated during the unsupervised search for JonBenet. Although the crime scene was considered compromised there were still several key pieces of evidence collected, which included a hand-written ransom note, JonBenet’s underwear, piece of nylon cord used during strangulation, and duct tape covering JonBenet’s mouth (Agrawal, 2016). Investigators concluded that JonBenet was struck in head so hard that her skull was fractured, she was strangled with so much force that the nylon garrote was embedded in her skin, and she was sexually assaulted (Ramsey, 2000). Additionally, investigators determined the ransom note was written with a pad and pen from the Ramseys’ home, and the ransom price was the exact amount of John’s year-end bonus (Agrawal, 2016).
The murder of Jonbenet Ramsey is a really depressing and mysterious at that. The murder was extremely brutal, she had wounds on her face, a cracked skull, duct tape on her mouth, she was tied up, and she had a garrote around her neck. According to the documentary we watched she was hit in the head with a flashlight and then strangled with a garrote. It was expected that she snatched a piece of pineapple from her brother’s bowl in which he hit her with a flashlight because of it, and she was still alive so it was most likely the parents got in on it because they didn’t want to be filed for abuse and jailed so they strangled her to death and put a blanket over her body, breaking a window and adding a ransom note to make it seem like someone broke in.
JonBenet Ramsey Case On the morning of December 29th, 1996, Patsy Ramsey got dressed and went downstairs to start getting prepared for the day. What she was not prepared for was the ransom note that was left for her at the bottom of the stairs. Jonbenet Ramsey, Patsy’s six year old daughter, had been kidnapped. The note said that if Patsy and the rest of her family did not listen and do what was on the note then Jonbenet would be killed.
