The story of Casey Anthony. Did she kill her daughter or did she go missing and someone else killed her? The jury and the judge thought she was innocent but was she? Casey Anthony was a 19 year old girl who had her beautiful baby, Caylee Anthony, on August 9th, 2005. Casey wanted to put her up for adoption but her mother, Cindy, told her that was not what a mother does and she shouldn't be thinking like that. Casey lived with her parents for the next couple of years and Cindy always offered to take Caylee from her because she was not fit to be a mother, but Casey resented her mother and told her she didn't need her help. They got into a huge argument and Casey left the house with Caylee that night. For weeks Cindy called to check on the …show more content…
She was sent home on August 21 with bail set as, 500,000 by a bounty hunter, Leonard Padilla. Padilla hoped that Casey could lead him to her daughter or give any more clues on where she could be, but to his mistake she did not give any additional information. Casey got arrested only 8 days later for forging checks and identity theft. On December 11, 2008, Roy Kronk found a plastic bag of human remains in it and found that the skull had been duct taped. On December 19, 2008 the human remains were identified as Caylee Anthony's. In June 2011, Casey Anthony's trial began. They found that she had searched on her computer about chloroform. Chloroform is a colorless, volatile, sweet-smelling liquid used as a solvent and formerly as a general anesthetic. Casey's mom said she was the one who looked up the chloroform and they found some in the back of her car after Casey had stolen the car. Casey told the jury that Caylee drowned, even though she had a life jacket on; and the odtopsey said that she did not drown. Another lie. Casey wanted it covered up so she wouldn't be charged with child
This family was filled with lies, denial and and the need to please. From a young age Casey was raped by her father at young age and it was never acknowledge by the family because they had an image to uphold in the white picket fence community they lived in and people feel this was reflected in the death f Caylee, “The defense claims that Caylee died by an accidental drowning in the family pool and then the body was hidden to cover up secrets. One of the secrets claimed by the defense was that Casey, from the age of eight, was sexually molested by her father and there was attempted sexual abuse by Casey's brother” ( McBride). Her family was known to be a functional one people within their communities where the lived never knew that Casey was being harmed and the years of her being abused reflect on Caylee’s death. These issues were reflected because Casey may have been told not to report it just like she was told not to tell anyone of the horrendous things her father would do to her and what her brother tried to do to her.
Caylee Anthony was reported missing July 15th, 2008. She had been last seen June 16th, 2008. The mother of Caylee Anthony is Casey Anthony. The day Caylee Anthony went missing, Casey claims to have gotten off of work to go pick 2 year old Caylee Anthony up from her nanny’s house. But when she got there none was home.
In addition to that, Jim Solomon’s, A spokes person said that a utility person found the body at 9:32 AM in a forest-y area less than 1/2 a mile away from Casey’s household. Sheriff's Office spokesman Jim Solomons said that a utility worker found the body at 9:32 a.m. EST Thursday in a wooded area less than half of a mile from the house Caylee lived in with her grandparents and mother. This meaning, Casey could have easily hid the body after the murder. Lastly, Investigators found duct tape, and suspected Casey killed Caylee by taping over her mouth and nose. Casey is then charged with first degree murder, but was acquitted of them.
When asking her daughter, Casey, where Caylee was she made many different excuses before finally admitting that she had not seen Caylee in weeks. Police suspected that Casey was responsible for the death of Caylee and after an investigation, Casey was charged

Casey had no other excuses and more evidence began to pile up against her. George Anthony took the stand and told the jury of a time not long before Caylee’s disappearance when Casey and her boyfriend broke into the shed out back at his home stole gas cans. One of the gas cans stolen had a special kind of duct tape on it which was not found in very many places. To seal the deal, that special duct tape had been removed when Casey returned the cans and was later found on Caylee covering her mouth
Lead defense attorney Jose Baez suggested, at the trial, that the little girl drowned and Casey Anthony's father, George, helped cover up the incident. The former judge for the case believes the Casey Anthony killed her toddler daughter, but not own purpose. “Considering the high levels of chloroform that was found in the trunk of the car, that was my logical deduction for what happened,' Perry said. ' That’s just a theory. The only person that actually knows what happened is Casey
After several days of no communication and concern about Travis Alexander’s wellbeing, a couple of his friends went to his residence in Mesa, Arizona. They did in fact find their friend but he was lying in a pool of blood. One June 9, 2008, Travis was found with many wounds, including a slit neck, multiple stab wounds and a gunshot in the head. In the Casey Anthony case, she says that her daughter drowned in a pool because of her lack of attention towards her daughter. So was the jury accurate in their decision of saying she was not guilty? The trial had begun on May 10, 2011 three years after two-year-old Caylee Anthony had been reported missing. After a few months of investigation, investigators had found Caylee’s skeletal remains
In the Casey Anthony trial, a controversial piece of evidence had been brought up about whether or not the “smell of death” from the trunk of Casey’s car can be linked to and used as evidence in the death of her daughter, Caylee Anthony. The smell that was in the trunk of Casey’s car could have been used as evidence in the trial. Why? Because it would have proven that, her daughter Caylee decomposed body was in the trunk of the car.
Caylee’s grandmother called the police after a month of not seeing her grandchild, noticing she went missing. She also reported her car smelled like there had been a dead body in it. Caylee’s grandmother said her daughter Casey had given various explanations as to where her daughter was week after week before calling the cops. Casey had also lied to the detectives that her daughter had been kidnapped by a babysitter on June 9th and tried to warn the police but was too scared. Finally Casey was charged with first-degree murder and pleaded not
The defense attorney claimed that Anthony and her father tried to cover up the death. A forensic expert is brought in and testifies that there must have been a decomposing body in Anthony’s car trunk because that was the only plausible explanation for the odor in the car trunk. Casey Anthony did not testify during the whole court process. The jury deliberated for almost eleven hours and their verdict for Anthony was that she was not of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a child. She was found guilty of four counts of providing false information to law enforcement.
Since the very beginning Casey has not been thrilled of her pregnancy, and with “ Caylee now dead, this has allowed Casey to live a good life, at least for those first 31 days” (Florida V. Casey). Through out the trial this mother was only thinking about herself, according to Attorney Linda Drone from CNN ” No one else benefited from the death of Caylee Marie Anthony”. The jury verdict was upsetting to society because of the mother not being charged with the murder or disappearance of Caylee. The Jury like what was said before only could make a decision on what was being given. There was little to no evidence that was brought to court that was investigated thoroughly to build a case or to charge her with it.
Not calling 911 and hiding the body was morally and criminally wrong. The lack of remorse bothered me as an utter disregard for her dead daughter and selfishness unparalleled. I believe that the prosecution’s putting the death
On May 25, 2010 Casey Anthony 's lawyer states to the court and jury that Caylee was unintentionally drowned in the swimming pool of their home , and that Casey and her father had cover it up. The prosecution presented that Casey Anthony did research on chloroform at her home computer but her mother Cindy Anthony 's asserted that it was her that made the searches that implicated her daughter but the records showed that Cindy Anthony was at work when these searches were done. On July 5, the jury found Casey not guilty of first degree murder but she was found guilty on four misdemeanors because she provided false material to a law enforcement officers.
