In the text, Philbrick's selection of primary sources serve to develop his thesis into multiple authentic and surreal accounts of differing perspectives between loyalists and patriots. In his focus on primary sources, Philbrick knits together firsthand accounts from various Bostonian residents such as John Adams and John Andrews with events leading up to the war. For the most part, reading each journal and firsthand documentary is refreshing, but there are various points when Philbrick's reliance upon certain accounts prove to be unnecessary and exhaustive. He references to countless sources, and while most were significant, many appeared to have miniscule relevance to the main takeaway. For instances, Philbrick purposed John Andrew's narrative to aid readers in understanding the context of everything taking place in Boston during the 1700's, but most of the information referring to Andrew's personal accounts and the British's evacuation appears

In the early 1760’s, the tension between the people in Boston and the British soldiers started to grow until in early 1770, when the two groups reached their breaking point. On March 5, 1770, a group of men started intimidating a British soldier; he soon called for assistance but eventually the crowd had grown to practically one hundred people. Captain Thomas Preston and seven other soldiers arrived, trying to calm the situation down, but to no avail. A soldier fired into the crowd followed by the other soldiers firing soon after, resulting in five people being killed. Captain Thomas Preston happened to be arrested and charged with murder.

Movies and Hollywood have captivated our ideas of history whether it being movies such as 300 or my current topic Glory. Movies have profound impact on our historical perception and even though these movies try to stay accurate they still present major inaccuracy. Now in this paper I will be reviewing and detailing the historical validity of the 1989 Civil War blockbuster Glory, the movie is centered on the Massachusetts 54th regiment that was predominately made up of African American free men and their commander Robert Gould Shaw, who was the son of a prominent Abolitionist family in Boston. Shaw was originally was apart of the 7th New York who had aided in the defense of Washington and later join and rise up the ranks in the 2nd Massachusetts.

Robert Remini’s Andrew Jackson and His Indian Wars is a book that makes you question Jackson's character. Remini addresses the long-standing debate of historians and scholars over whether or not Jackson was barbaric or whether he was a merciful savior that prevented the Native Americans from going extinct. Remini instead argues the opinion that Jackson was simply a man of his time. Despite this, Remini does show Jackson's inexcusable cruelty towards the Native Americans. He learned to fear and hate Indians from an early age.

Gary Nash, the author of the book, The Forgotten Experience, talks about the arbitrary lifestyle Native Americans and African American faced during the American Revolution, which occurred on April 19, 1775. Many Native American tribes in the east of the Mississippi joined the colonist to fight the war at the “home front” against the British. However, some of the Native Americans took advantage and fought against the colonists by themselves. On the other hand, African American fought the Revolution for freedom. They wanted to escape from being slaves and have equal rights as whites.

The Patriot is a movie filmed displaying the time of the American Revolution, it is a very historically inaccurate film that features few historical accuracies. The Patriot offers inaccurate character portrayal, cultural details and social details. The few dainty accuracies of the film include apparel, battle occurence, and gun usage. As the movie progresses many parts throughout the film do not align with proper historical accuracy. The inaccuracies may seem true to the common eye but with proper intel it is clearly seen to be erroneous.

The buffalo was one of the most sacred things to the Native Americans, but was their main source of supplies, because they used every part of the buffalo to help them. October 1, 1734 marks the date that Chickasaw tribe was attacked. This battle lead to the answer of how the paint horses got there markings. It all started when the Chickasaw tribe invaded the camps of the Cherokee Indians, and abducted the wife 's and kids of the Cherokees. The Chickasaw men were envious of the Cherokee men for their ability, to create strong families; considering, the Chickasaw men were unable to marry, due to a curse set upon them by the artisans in 400 BC. If the Chickasaw men wanted to break this curse they were to abduct the families in plain sight from the Cherokee men.
