The articles of confederation is the first national government of the United states America, however, this constitution is flawed. The new independent nation needed an organization that would hold all of the states together, send a military off in the future if needed and of course a stronger economy. The articles seemed to be the best route to take for the United States in order to build unity in their nation. The U.S wanted to avoid higher power like Great Britain with King George the third. They wanted to spread power to the people evenly.

The articles of confederation built the structure for what the United States calls the Government today. Before the constitution the Articles of Confederation played an extremely important factor in creating a unified country. The articles of conferation is an agreement between the 13 states it acted as a "firm league of friendship" for the states by providing an alliance. The Articles of Confederation proved the United States had a limited central government. This then led the founding fathers to agree that a new stronger constitution was necessary thus they ratified the constitution and addressed the need for a stronger central government.

The Articles of Confederation were developed to unite all of the 13 colonies as a nation, rather than having them all govern their selves based off of population. The Articles of Confederation had created a very loose alliance of the 13 colonies or states as they will later be referred to. The Articles of Confederation also had been created due to the fact that the Declaration of Independence never stated the word, “nation” and this led others to believe after independence had been officially stated that the colonies would attempt to govern themselves. Furthermore, the Articles of Confederation were completely necessary in its making because the Congress had to lay a base government down for the colonies or an “example” government. The first thing the Articles of Confederation provided would be the fact it gave the states the ability to retain their freedom,

Not only did it they deal foreign affairs, it also dealt with Native American affairs. They also had power to regulate coinage.

The articles stated that each state could have their own currency, meaning if two people in different states wanted to trade, or if someone was traveling to another state, they would have to exchange their currency. This would turn out to be troublesome due to the extra effort being made in currency exchange. It was like if traveling to or trading with another state was like traveling to or trading with another country in the modern day.

Today, the Articles are commonly thought to have a poor framework and a weak central government. Because of this, there were many controversies that came from it. Many people disagreed with it, but there were also people who strongly agreed with it.

The Articles of Confederation was written by the Continental Congress during the Revolutionary War, to basically give the colonies some sense of a unified government. On the other hand, the Constitution was created by the founding fathers to establish a federal government for United States of America, and assign to federal government certain powers. Both documents had similar purpose, but one was more stronger and efficient. There were many reasons why the Constitution was stronger than the Articles of Confederation, and it’s simply because the Articles of Confederation had too many weaknesses.

They talked about how the government should run in which they split it into three different branches, Legislative which creates laws, Executive which carries out laws, and Judicial evaluates laws. In my opinion, the American leaders were doing the right thing in terns of governing. There was indeed needed a government in order to organize the country.

I agree with this statement based on the examples and analysis of the Constitution I will soon provide. Such flaws would eventually lead to the Constitution and the repeal of the articles, for the Constitution was a measure to fix the problems of the articles with a stronger government that allowed them to impose taxes and and implement new laws for a more effective government.
