Going to college is a great experience, but no one ever really asks why people go to college. Some people go to college for cultural reasons, to make their parents proud. Others go for economic reasons to improve their family’s financial situation. And yet other go because they want to learn as much as they can. So lets look at some substantial reasons why people go to college. First, the cultural reasons for a student attending college that it could be expected of them by their parents. If the parents went to school and graduated as a lawyer or professional person they would expect and push their children to do the same. The parents because they see the value of their education they want their children to also see the value of higher education. Most students realize that having a high school diploma will not afford them a life style they desire. Most students have participated somewhat in the business world before they first attend college. Some have had menial jobs where they realize the value of education when another person get the promotion that they were not eligible for. For some students their reasoning to attend is as simple as not wanting to live paycheck to paycheck. Lastly, some students attend college because they are truly disciples of learning. Many students enjoy the experience of opening their minds to new ideas and revelations through the higher education experience. They seek to gain knowledge, to be exposed to ideas and philosophies that will enhance their lives. One of the main reasons to obtain a college education is the hope of using it to find a job that will enable them to live a comfortable life with a financially secured future. Some students go with the hope of meeting that one special person who will always care for them. Some students go to college so that they can move up in life.
The American Dream can be defined in any way people desire it to be. Although, our generation has become more materialistic there are still those who don’t only go to college to attain these materialistic desires but go because of the ideological joy studentsget from their experience there. Is College Worth The Time And money Many people go to college for many reasons the main one for most is to get a degree in something they think will give them better job opportunities which in return would allow them to have a better paying job then what they may have now. A lot of time ,effort and money go into college and so it’s understandable to think that once you’re done you’ll have a great job waiting for you . In a lot of cases it really doesn’t turn out that way, but either way college is well worth all the time and money someone puts into it.
As long as I can remember, I knew that college was going to be part of my future. That is because I always knew what my family expected out of me. College is not only important to me for the reason of making my parents proud, but for making sure that I create more out of myself, as well. With a higher education, I will have more job opportunities available, potentially be able to earn higher income, and obtain more useful life skills than somebody who does not have a college education. To begin, having a college education under my belt is important to me because I will have more opportunities for a job, after I complete my four years.

Why do I want to attend college? College is an honorary achievement and it separates the determined from the undetermined. Owning a college to degree is an honor and an ecstatic feeling. Why People Should Not Go to College People should not go to college because is difficult to find out what career choice as a result of the inexperience and little information, the potential loans are overwhelming, and the huge necessity to start working immediately after school. A person who wants to attend college should not take on such a large financial and time commitment just to please other people. Growing up, for most people, going to college is not an option- its an expectation. In our society, going to college has become a fundamental part of our education, becoming an adult, and for most people just simply part of our lives. However, as people grow up and experience reality, the realization hits that college may not be as simple as once thought. As much as attending college is expected from the majority of young people, dropping out of college is not. Growing up I have watch my single mother struggle with providing for my family, she did not graduate college and has regretted it ever since.
I want to go to college to become an elementary school teacher. This has always been my goal in life since I was in elementary school. I want to be able to use my education to better the education of others, especially young kids who are in the peak of intellectual development. I took an internship with special needs preschool this year and it has taught me so much about the importance of education for younger children. While yes education is important no matter what age you are I believe a quality elementary education is the most crucial stepping stone to guaranteeing better education later on in life.

Reasons for starting College Once a wise a man told me that going to school is an investment in life. I have to work hard in school to succeed because hard work always pays off. I do know that people go to school, but they do not go for the same reasons. Some people go to school to complete an incomplete; they never finish while others go to start a degree. But, I started college since I want to gain financial freedom, to obtain better health coverage, to engage in the community.
