Going into my senior year of high school, I was forced to make some fairly large decisions about my future, as were most teens my age. Before making the decision to attend California University of Pennsylvania, I was looking into what career was best for me, and what I wanted to achieve in my educational career. This was a lengthy and difficult process, but in the end, it led me to the path I am traveling today as a student at California University of Pennsylvania. When it came to deciding what I wanted to major in, I was very unsure.

For this outcome I chose the CE 240 Unit 6 assigment. With this artifact a demonstrate my knowledge of appropriate observational and assessment techniques and planning for children and their families. I chose this artifact because it shows how I will prepare and plan for children with a specific disability. In this assignment I demonstrate my ability to arrange the learning environment to encourage children with specific needs to reach their learning goals. Observation is one of the most vital skill for early childhood educator.

Lindsey Pollak provides suggestions to ease the transition from student to career for the recent, or soon to be college graduate. The lucid writing style she uses in her book provides a sense of comfort to an inevitably stressful period in our lives. Pollak start’s off the chapter encouraging the reader to not worry about the things we have not done, or should have done. It would be easy for me to get caught up on the would’ve, could’ve, should’ve.

When it comes to this semester, things for me are going well. So far in the course, I have been able to get all my homework and reading entirely on time and not rushing things at the last minute. This week nine discussion I thought gave us a chance to showcase what well learned on the aspects of resume building and higher education career development for individuals. A lot of the information of have learned from week nine will assist in my research into the final project for this course. Learning about the news about career counseling in setting in scenes like elementary, high school to higher education’s makes us focus on the individual and what they want their future to look like.

Artifact and Description for S1 edit title Edit I have attached my “Long-Range Plan” as a demonstration of my ability to exhibit biblical principles. This artifact demonstrates my understanding of exhibiting biblical principles because it includes different learning strategies, assessment techniques, and accommodations that could be used to reach a variety of learners within the individual classroom setting. This particular skills outcome is important in early childhood education because my personal and professional behavior can impact the young students view of education for years to come. By exhibiting biblical principles, I can build positive relationships, show care towards others, and practice equality and fairness in my teaching.

Many students out of high school take the next step in extending their education by attending college. At the same time, how they choose the right school is one of the most burdening decisions in the secondary education process. Before going to college, the student must start the process to figure out their interests and where it can take them. Once this has been determined, they can start the application process to colleges that will assure success. Unfortunately, many parents of young adults impose limitations to their choices.

Focus 2 Assignment – Reflection Upon completing the Focus 2 career assessment program, I am quite impressed at the quality of information it presents. It allowed me to not only look at careers that would fit my personality, but also those that take into consideration the fields I am already interested in. Also, as with any form of self-assessment, there were strengths and weaknesses that I did not expect based on how I feel I live my life currently. In Derek Bok’s essay, “Preparing for a Career,” Bok challenges that idea that liberal arts and vocational training are world’s apart. Instead, he gives a different point of view that maybe the two fields of study are two sides of the same coin. While getting a professional education is important, job training is just as or even more so important. However, job training on its own has its drawbacks as well, so combining the two has merit. Philosophy, creative arts, humanities, etc.

I want to be able to apply my learnings in real-world scenarios and make a positive impact on individuals. In terms of my talents, I believe my developer theme will be the most instrumental in helping me fulfill my dreams and desires for college. Its ability to recognize and cultivate the potential in others will allow me to help my peers and classmates grow and develop alongside me. To further develop my talents, I plan to develop my adaptability skill by engaging in extracurricular activities that challenge me to adapt to different environments and circumstances. This theme will help me to navigate the ever-changing landscape of college life and ultimately contribute to my overall success.
