First of all, the abortion refers to “Abortion is when a pregnancy is ended so that it doesn't result in the birth of a child. Sometimes it is called 'termination of pregnancy'.” (British Pregnancy Advisory Agency , 2015). It means to terminate pregnancy whether through induced or spontaneous causes. When the abortion is spontaneous, it is referred to as a miscarriage. When the abortion is induced, this refers to plan pregnancy termination. The abortion statistics have displayed the rise in abortion rates. The abortion depends on the number of weeks that the woman has been pregnant. Also, there may be a health risk to the mother so the woman decides to terminate her life. There also may be a high opportunity for the baby to have a dangerous abnormality where such abnormality may be genetic or physical. The different countries have their laws which tackle this issue of abortion. Some countries consider such abortion as a crime which ends the life of a certain person. Countries put laws and regulations to regulate this issue of abortion (NHS, 2015). The abortion may be due to some causes and it may lead to some bad results. The abortions may be necessary to save the pregnant women lives or health. According to a lot of medical experts, the abortion may be allowed if necessary to prevent the mother death. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, “Abortions are necessary in a number of circumstances to save the life of a woman or to preserve her health. Unfortunately, pregnancy is not a risk-free life event.” (Painter, 2012). The women may be exposed to conditions which may result in ending a pregnancy as a means or saving the life of the mother such as the heart failure, the severe infections, as well as the severe cases of preeclampsia. The preeclampsia means that a woman develops high blood pressure. The ending of the pregnancy of a woman may be the only option. In this case, if the pregnancy is not ended, the mother's life will be put at risk (Painter, 2012) There may be a spontaneous abortion, or miscarriage. This happens if a fetus stops growing and the body begins to expel such fetus.
