Basically the statistics told Joey that she could do more chemo, but it would only buy her more time. They made the decision to go back home. Joey has been mostly sleeping these past few days since we’ve been home. Partly I think because of the medicine, but also because I think she’s trying to process what’s happening and even more so, what’s going to happen. I can’t process any of it. I can’t. Lizabeth feels sad, angry, ignorant and mature at this point of time as she steps away from childhood into womanhood.

Miles: When I first heard that she had died, I kept looking for signs that pointed to the crash being an accident. Like, she was drunk when she drove off. I wanted so badly to believe that the wreck was because of that, but at the same time I think a part of me also kind of knew that it was suicide. She was never in the right mindset, she was self-destructive and reckless.
At the meet last night, Bella wasn 't feeling well and I kept her home from school today due to symptoms of stomach flu. She said, “My life now is not how I predicted it to be. I must rely on my family, especially my daughter, to help take care of my husband and I because I’m getting to where I can’t. If it wasn’t for her coming over every morning and night, I don’t know what we would have done. My son doesn’t live as close as she does, but he will help us by driving us to the doctor sometimes. We have both been to a nursing home in the past, and although they were good to us, it is nice to be home.
