The career I chose to research is a Child Care Center Administrator. A Child Care Center Administrator is known to be in charge of toddler-aged programs or daycares who share the academic or non-academic requirements. He/she has to be able to love children and be able to work with them while also being able to take care of the business side of the Child Care Program. Some duties that the administrator may hold is monitoring a child’s progress of intellectual and emotional development and assist anyone who has a concern with the program or building. Before each “child care season”, the Administrator has to set certain goals and expectations that they want their students to obtain by the end of their session. You can go into anything from Business Administration to Social Work to become a Child Care Center Administrator. You generally have to only complete two years (Associate Degree) in the broad areas of study to get into this career, but the more you become qualified, you will have a higher paid salary and the likelihood of you becoming more successful is easier to obtain. The most beneficial majors for this career is Child Care Worker, Child Development, and Early Childhood Education. It would be highly favorable if you got into child care working beforehand to get a sense of what it is like to run a child care service. An easier way to become a Child Care Center Administrator is if you become recognized by the Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) that is offered by the National Early Childhood Program. There are many programs out there that are nationally recognized to work with children. With being recognized through these programs, it helps you and your program to be better known by those who want their children in the best possible care. Many states have their own requirements of licensing when it comes to childcare centers. A huge part of the licensing program is to have background checks and to teach the future staff CPR or what to do in case of emergencies. It is also mentioned that many different careers could be used from the same majors that also deal with helping children. You could become an elementary school teacher with only a bachelor’s degree, a teacher’s assistant that only needs a few years of college, and a childcare worker that only requires a high school diploma. This career is very much like being a principal for a school but for toddler-aged

NAEYC argued for salaries and benefits to be linked to qualifications and responsibilities. In 1999, Child and Youth Care forum published a series of articles in a symposium on the professionalization of the early childhood care through developing a positive relationship between professional development and the status and salaries of the childcare staff. The need for improved child outcomes, quality programs, and teacher qualifications has continued to frame the discussion around professional status. The improved wages for childcare staff was still missing from major initiatives. Unless, childcare staff wages were included in all the initatives, the efforts to improve program quality and child outcomes would be very

As many would guess education is likely the main thing that someone who hires an early childhood professional looks at. This along with someones work background are very important parts to hiring an early childhood professional. Although these are very important, there are many other very important things that are looked for when hiring an early childhood professional. In the article “12 Characteristics of Effective Early Childhood Teacher”, on NAEYC.org, Laura J. Colker talks about what makes a good early childhood educator.
Although not all the children will sleep, so for those children activities will have already been setup for them to do. I always ensure that I encourage children to use the toilet to allow them to become independent. I also demonstrated to the children about what is happening in order for them to follow instructions. I was aware of all the children’s dietary needs, allergies and religious beliefs. I worked in partnership with the children’s parents and carers to find out what food their child can and cannot have.
The textbook for this course, Infants, Toddlers, and Caregivers, is based on ten principles for child care that are outlined by researcher Magda Gerber in the 1970’s. The ten principles are based on a philosophy of respect. In addition to the ten principles, a caregiver should know the “Three-R’s” for interaction. The Three R’s are respectful, responsive and reciprocal.
The important reason to makes a good and professional early childhood educator is to communicate with children and try to understand them. I did not have any working experience in kindergarten, but I have some experience of taking care of a child due to my mother is a babysitter. The child that my mother takes care is a boy and he’s autism. He is a child that sometimes like lives in his own world and sometimes he is also hyperactive. He likes to sing, dance and write.
Introduction: Child Care Service – What is it? Child care is an industry that provides quality help to countless mothers and fathers who are in need of qualified, capable providers to take care of their children. Without child care providers, there would be less jobs and many stressed mothers and fathers. Child care is a very impersonal industry, where no existing or past relationships must be made in order to do business, save nannies and at-home care providers. Child care providers help make the transition into childhood education much smoother by teaching the children letters, numbers, and shapes, while giving them proper diet and exercise.
Observations are very important when planning for children’s individual needs. While observing practitioner understand children’s needs, interests and their stage of development. Once children’s needs, interests and stage of development are recognised, practitioner can plan activities and resources accordingly. Children must be observed frequently as their needs, interests and stage of development keeps on changing. The activities given to children should be according to their current abilities which will enhance their development.

One of the unique aspects of the Department of Child Development and Family Relations is that many of the department’s large core courses offer teaching assistant opportunities to undergraduate students. Teaching assistant opportunities are valuable for undergraduate students to decide whether to apply as a graduate teaching position, great addition to a resume, and for a letter of recommendation. From my teaching assistant experience, I was able to fully grasp the concepts of middle childhood development, form a new appreciation for professors and teaching assistants, and reflect on myself as a student. In addition, I had the opportunity to strengthen several essential skills such as organizational skills, leadership skills, and communication
