The author used logos through whole article, he started with the Common Ground Country Fair and he taught about all the things that related to the fair. Then he also end with the fair. It makes audiences feel clearly with his article. He also used pathos and ethos when he was writing through the article. Therefore, the author uses of pathos, ethos and logos in the article and make it not only attractive but also credible and logical. At first, when I just read the title and the abstract, I thought it is a simple article that just talk about that John Bunker brings various apples back to America. However, after I read through all article, I found it is an article that have deep meaning which is talk about the how John Bunker being important to America and why do people like him are important. They are always the contributors of our society. We should learn from this kind of people. It is also our pleasure to hear the story about
The author used different elements of ethos, logos, pathos, and kairos to effectively communicate with the reader. Eve Tushnet the author of this essay does not have a whole lot of ethos. Eve is lacking credibility and character because she is not an established author. Eve is not a credible author because she is a freelance writer. Eve does not have good credibility because she blogs and contributes to an opinion magazine and website.
Lopez uses logos by using logical arguments, like how he talks about the cost of these transplants and highlights the importance of prioritizing these organs for people who are law-abiding citizens. Lopez uses pathos to evoke sympathy about his father’s situation since early on he mentions how "my dad has a heart condition" (187). Lopez uses the early part of his article to build up ethos, logos, and pathos, which I think works well since it makes the reader start to think right off the

The next rhetorical structure used in this documentary is ethos. Ethos is an appeal to credibility. Throughout the documentary, many examples of ethos are demonstrated. From interviews to facts/logos from companies such as Tyson and Perdue throughout the film. Carol Morison, the owner of “Perdue Chicken Farmer”, provided access to Food Inc. to be in her chicken farm.
Carson then goes on to paint a picture of a disease that captured the lives of plant and animal life. Causing illness and death to families. Going from one extreme to another allows Cason’s audience to picture what kind of healthy, beautiful environment America once had, but lost. Now having an environment that is plagued with a plant disease named blight, animals and plants grow ill and die making life for Americans scarce. By using imagery, Carson persuades her audience to long for a new America, where waste is not an issue and disease caused by plants no longer
Ethos refers to the author’s credibility and authority on the subject matter as perceived by the audience (Williams, 2012). Gladwell is a staff writer for The New Yorker as well as a bestselling author that doubles as a public speaker (Donadio, 2006); and his experience shows in his writing. Gladwell uses many learned and reliable sources to support his claims that each provide striking foolproof evidence . The author establishes a strong backbone to his argument by making sure he covers all the basics and never leaves anything to chance. Anything Gladwell does
Couple examples of logos was when Skloot’s mentions, “According to Howard Jones and other gynecologic oncologists I talked with, the correct diagnosis wouldn’t have changed the way Henrietta’s cancer was treated”(Skloot 172) and “In 1928 a German virologist named Harald zur Hausen discovered a new strain of a sexually transmitted virus called Human Papilloma Virus 18 (HPV-18).'' (Skloot 212) She uses reliable sources and discreetly informs the reader that she isn’t saying things out of thin air but instead she uses proper sources to validate her points in her novel. She uses logos by discussing scientific information and explanations, as well as the degree of Henrietta’s impact on

He hadn’t made any friends over the summer because he didn’t really know anybody and nobody from his grade lived in the same neighborhood as him. As he tried to talk to different people in his grade, he was doing just fine making friends. But every time he tried to talk to somebody he tried to tell them about what he saw Orville and Wilbur Wright doing with their contraptions on the beach.

Ethos, Pathos, and logos are essential in persuading an idea or work of art that you strongly agree with. Everyone practices them daily, or at least encounter them, whether they realize it or not. From the articles Up Sh*t Creek (with a Paddle) and Learning to Surf by David Gessner, are similar as a whole. David Gessner demonstrates to the audience that he is reliable to write about the outdoors(ethos), that he has character, experience and knowledge in the subject he is sharing.
