Ponyboy And Dally: Plot Analysis

From here it progresses. Without knowing it, Ponyboy, Soda Pony’s older brother, Johnny and Two-bit, start flirting with two Soc’s girlfriends. This sparked a number of events, such as when Johnny and Ponyboy get home, Ponyboy 's oldest brother, Darry, gets angry at him because he was out too late and then hits him which lead to Ponyboy and Johnny running away to the nearest park where they get jumped by Socs and Johnny kills a man, from there they became criminals on the run. They hide out in an abandoned church which later catches on fire and they rescue children from it but Johnny gets hurt. Ponyboy is a 14 year old who lives with his brothers in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Then Ponyboy tries to defend Sodapop, but when this happens, Darry smacks him. This leads Ponyboy to feel unwanted and runs away. This immediately makes Darry regret what he did and feel ashamed. Next, after seeing a drive-in movie Ponyboy and his friends, Johnny and Two-bit, leave with two Socs, Cherry and Marcia; Cherry asks Ponyboy questions about his brothers when she gets to Darry, Ponyboy tells her that Darry is cold and mean; and that he does not like Ponyboy at all. Johnny and Two-bit, shocked, tell Ponyboy that it is not true, and then Ponyboy snaps back at Johnny, telling him that he is not wanted at home and for a reason lacking empathy for Johnny and his life at home.

Tulsa - During these past few days, Ponyboy has been in contact with one of the bumpiest roads in his life that could ever happen. To be under hiding as wanted by police for the manslaughter of Robert “Bob” Sheldon. Regardless, in recent measures is now being praised as a child savior from a recent fire in Windrixville. Moreover, Ponyboy no longer under the custody of his parents due to a horrific car crash has been living with his older brothers Darry along with Sodapop Curtis. These trio of brothers have been living in desperation as Darry has a life of two different occupations.

In the novel entitled The Outsiders, written by S.E. Hinton, fourteen year old Ponyboy Curtis is faced with the deaths of his beloved parents. Now under the care of his oldest brother Darry, Ponyboy and his other brother, Sodapop, are forced to stay out of trouble to avoid being taken away to a boys’ home. However, these brothers are members of a gang referred to as “greasers”, which poses a threat to their good reputation. Throughout the novel, Ponyboy struggles to determine whether or not it would benefit his brothers if he were to be taken away to a home. Though it is difficult for the family to live a somewhat normal life, Ponyboy deserves the opportunity to stay with his brothers.

Soda tells Pony that they 're planning a big party, after which there will be a rumble and the Greasers will run the Socs out of town. Pony asks if Sandy will be Soda 's date for the party, and everybody gets uncomfortable. When Sandy 's parents heard about Soda 's marriage proposal, they sent her to live with her grandmother. Darry and Soda leave for work, while Two-Bit stays behind with Pony, who does some cleaning to prepare for the social workers ' inspection of their home. Later, as they 're walking to the hospital, Pony realizes that a blue Mustang is following them.

This didn't make sense to Ponyboy yet. After running from the police when johnny stabbed Bob a soc they find themselves in an abandoned church. When Ponyboy returns to society after being in the hospital. He finds himself meeting with Randy, Bob's best friend. Pony is suppried when Randy tells him that he's sorry for Pony and how Bob's parents never gave him limits.

Early in the book, Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally sneak into a movie theater and they meet these two girls named Cherry and Marcia. While Pony and Cherry were going to get popcorn, they stumbled onto the topic of Johnny. While Cherry had just met Johnny, she can tell that something is wrong with him. Pony ends up telling her how they found Johnny after he got jumped, and how much he had changed after the fact. Pony goes on to state that; “And Johnny, who was the most law-abiding of us, now carried in his back pocket a six-inch switchblade.

No longer then a few minutes later Ponyboy went running to Jonny and telling him that they were running away. After Jonny finally calmed Ponyboy down, he got it out of him that Darry had hit him. Ponyboy told Jonny that he could go home after he cooled down. As they were walking to the park nearby, they noticed the same car they had seen previously that night when they got caught by a couple of Soc's trying to walk their girls home after they had ditched their boyfriends after they were drinking. As the guys pulled up and got out of their car, Ponyboy noticed that they were drunk.

" Valence claimed to have sent the boys home angrily. “Marcia and I were enjoying our night when a friend of Ponyboy’s began chatting us up in a very rude manner. Ponyboy and Johnny stuck up for us. They were very chivalrous,

Ponyboy’s parents died in a car crash leaving his oldest brother Darrel also known as Darry to take care of his two younger brothers. The middle brother Sodapop is always trying to keep Darry and Ponyboy from fighting. Darry has become more of a parent figure in in Ponyboys life causing a lot of tension between the two. Some of the other main characters are Johnny, Two-Bit, Dallas, and Steve. They are all Greasres and are coincided a gang but just think of each other as friends.

All of Pony’s greaser gang rescues him and chases the Socs away. Pony is okay, but shaken up. Later in the novel, Pony, Johnny, and Dally go to the Nightly double and meet Cherry Valance and Marcia. It, for the most part, goes well.

This shows how he gained back his self-confidence and his ability to stand up for himself. Johnny finally found his acceptance from Dally when Dally said, “We’re all so proud of you” (148). When Dally said that Ponyboy noticed Johnny’s eyes glowing, “Dally was proud of him... That was all he ever wanted” (148). In the letter he wrote to Ponyboy, “It’s worth saving those kids...

People are often misconceived for what they present on the outside, not what’s on the inside. This is shown in a number of characters in a number of novels. One of these novels, is called the Outsiders, written by S.E. Hinton. In this novel, there is a boy named Johnny, who is in a gang called the greasers. He is like the pet of the gang, and without him, their is no balance between the gang mates.

Ponyboy lived with his two brothers Darry and Sodapop after his parents were killed in a car accident. Ponyboy had some friends in the gang: Steve, Two-Bit, Dally but his best friend was a boy named Johnny who was considered the gang`s mascot. Ponyboy was a boy who always wanted to be tough but an accident that happened in the story might make him change of mind on what he wanted to be. He also finds a way of how to finish the gang that was taking place from many tima.

Cherry’s recognition of Ponyboy being “more than just a greaser” leaves Ponyboy thinking about how the two gangs aren 't so different, “We aren 't in the same class. Just don’t forget that some of us watch the sunset too” (pg 46 S.E. Hinton). Ponyboy’s conversation with Cherry fulfills him briefly until he realizes they are in different gangs and cannot stay
