If it is a struggle to afford the high prices of some preschools there are many options for a more affordable way to give young children a pre-K education. Assistance programs exist to help a child get the education he/she needs prior to kindergarten. Head Start is a program that promotes school readiness of preschool aged children coming from low-income families. The preschool tuition is largely income based, but assistance is also provided to families with disabilities or handicaps. It provides everything that a traditional preschool would, but without that hefty price tag (ACFHHS). Another option would be a cooperative school. Cooperative schools are great for parents with extra time on their hands. They allow parents to help with the children’s learning, making them a part-owner of the school, and allowing the tuition to be adjusted for the parents’ needs (Huffington Post). There are plenty of alternative options that still allow a child to attend preschool, without emptying out wallets. Therefore, there is no excuse to deprive a child of this experience.
Preschool education is an extremely important start to a young child’s overall success in their early educational years and later life. Parents should supply their children with the best possible resources for them to grow up strong and successful. Children get a chance to enhance their knowledge, physical skills, and social/emotional skills in a pre-K environment. These are skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. Any parent who wants the best for their child, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially, will make the decision to enroll their own children into a
The Universal Pre-K Initiative is a movement to allow access to preschool programs for all eligible children in all states, regardless of social economic status, abilities and other factors. Except for the early years of the Bush administration, support for Universal Pre-K has come entirely from Democratic policy actors. Universal Pre-K didn’t emerge again as a national issue until it became part of the Obama campaign’s platform in 2006 (Brown & Wright 2011). The impact of Universal Pre-K Initiative will have on the Early Childhood Education field is apparent. Some have argued that the state should not be providing these services and should allow existing agencies to continue operating their Pre-K programs.
The Universal Pre-K Initiative is a movement to allow access to preschool programs for all eligible children in any state regardless of their social economic status, abilities and any other reason. Universal Pre-K started back in 1834 in France and grew throughout other European countries. It is said that Kindergarten is the new first grade, and first grade is the new third grade. At the rate we are going now, parents aren’t going to be able to keep up to teach or help their children with their homework. Around twenty-four percent of mothers and twenty-five percent of fathers in 2015 have
Janet acknowledges the children of Head Start are in difficult situations in which they are poor or they are referrals from child protective services. The positive short term effects that Head Start offers is a lasting influence on the child’s future. The fact in which Head Start is still operating after 50 years is an indicator of an evolving quality preschool. I agree with most of the article, however, I do not feel as though this article provides the Head Start Program with justice.

Americans usually think of third world countries when thinking of poverty, often one will not realize that it is a problem right here at home. Everyone will agree that poverty is a problem, but how exactly does poverty affect people? Most people will think of an old beggar on the side of the road with a sign and a tin can in their hand when they think of poor people. The important reason to makes a good and professional early childhood educator is to communicate with children and try to understand them. I did not have any working experience in kindergarten, but I have some experience of taking care of a child due to my mother is a babysitter. The child that my mother takes care is a boy and he’s autism. He is a child that sometimes like lives in his own world and sometimes he is also hyperactive. He likes to sing, dance and write.
Providers (pros) and parents (pars), is the rate negotiable? If so, what should you keep in mind when discussing the pay rate for child care? What can you afford?
Not only is there a high cost in money but also a high cost in the mental sacrifice required. If a parent were to homeschool than planning the lessons, field trips, and to organize outdoor activities takes a serious toll on their mental state. This can be manually damaging for the teacher let alone the detrimental effects it would have on the student. One last cost that proves that public school is more beneficial is the physical cost. Without a regular gym class many students would not regularly exercise.
There are a great number of studies that state that the first five years of a child’s development are the most important and that they will set the tone for the child’s ability to learn, socialize, and be a successful member of society. Because of this, proponents believe that preschool should become mandatory for all children. While this might seem like a good solution to some, preschool should not be mandatory for all children before they enter kindergarten. There are many factors to be considered in a child 's early development and to put a blanket demand on entering preschool, could be a disservice to some children based on parental influences, environmental factors, and the level of education and care being given in a particular home childcare
