What is a Public Health Information Officer?
A public health information officer is the official spokesperson and communications coordinators governmental organizations, such as city councils, school district offices and state health departments. They do not have marketing or public relations responsibilities, but instead provide information to the media and public as dictated by laws and standards.

A community-based public health information officer is tasked with reducing, controlling and preventing the occurrence of communicable diseases and illnesses in assigned communities. The Youth and School Resource Officers School Resource Officers (SROs) are sworn police officers trained to serve and protect the community. As such, they have a duty to serve and protect schools within their jurisdiction as part of a total community-policing strategy. Research has shown that the youth with healthy relationships and “protective factors” have a reduced chance of becoming involved in serious delinquency. These “protective factors” include adding school resource officers to school campuses with the growing number of at-risk students. It is important for schools to have SROs because the SRO’s role on school campus is keeping students safe and supporting the education mission not only as law enforcement officer but also as a teacher and a counselor.
Being a candidate for the National Honor Society is a tremendous honor for me. Since I began high school, it has been a goal of mine to be a part of this amazing organization. Being involved in my school and community has always been important to me, and any chance I get to further my involvement is great. In P5 of my work I am going to outline and discuss the strategies and procedures used in health and social care to reduce the risk of abuse. The aim of the independent safeguarding Authority (ISA) was established under the Safeguarding Groups Act 2006 to protect children and vulnerable adult to those who might abuse them. The strategy in order to achieve this is through mentoring people who seek access through their work, paid, unpaid and voluntary. As they have to be registered under the vetting and barring scheme and will be checked against one of two barred list. Reference can be defined as being information that is written by a pervious employer that tells the workplace what type of person the individual is and if their experience is valid and if they have the experience to work with vulnerable adult.

In the ever changing landscape of health and social care and children and young person’s settings there are many pieces of government legislation and regulatory framework that service providers and organisations must now comply with. For example Care Quality Commission (CQC) introduced the essential standards of quality and safety which are central to the workplace. Every staff member has responsibility for providing good quality social care. Social care governance is the process by which organisations ensure good service delivery and promote good outcomes for people who use services.
As a student at Catalina Foothills High School, I believe I have lived up to the tenet of service and display ideals that the National Honors Society seek for in a student and citizen in society. If I am granted membership into the society, I believe I can contribute my qualities to the community as a member of Catalina Foothills National Honor Society and demonstrate the highest standards of behavior to represent our school honorably. To begin, I would like to establish the importance school and grades plays in my life. As of freshman year, my GPA has been a 3.8, but it constantly continues to grow and improve. My grades are a top priority in my life, because I’m aware that in order to succeed in life you need to be knowledgeable of how the world works.
Data use agreements and connections between HIE organizations are also a concern with health information exchange. “The types of healthcare partners that are needed is a challenge when determining the trading area needed for a viable HIE” (PHII, 2005). Although there are challenges, there are opportunities with implementing a health information exchange system. One opportunity is HIE can improve reporting to public health and in return improve the health of the community.
Resident Assistants serve many purposes and play many roles in the community. They help to build and promote a supportive and active community within their residence hall and across the campus, and offer support and guidance to their residents. This aids in making Geneseo feel more like home and a community rather than simply a school. RAs enforce Geneseo and Department of Student Life rules, while also being a more easily accessible and less intimidating resource to other students in need of help. I want to be an RA so that I can become more involved in the Geneseo community in a positive way, by helping and representing other students.

I should be considered for the Kaiser Permanente Health Care Scholarship because I have proved and accomplished more than what I thought I would be capable of in my education, I am passionate for the health industry, and I financially need to be to succeed.
