Basis of modern science of conflict is studies of German, Austrian, American sociologists of the 20th century: G.Simmel, L. Gumplowicz, D. Smalley, W. Sumner, R. Dahrendorf, Parsons. Conflict was recognized as normal social phenomenon. A number of biological, psychological, social and other factors inevitably generate conflict. Most scientists refer Georg Simmel to the founders of Theoretical conflictology. Namely Simmel introduced in the scientific revolution, the term "sociology of conflict." On how individuals evaluate the behavior of another individual, how he projects a conflict behavior depend conflict stability of person. In modern conflictology Thomas and Kilmann identified the following five basic styles of behavior in conflict situations: 1. Competing is assertive and uncooperative—an individual pursues his own concerns at the other person 's expense. 2. Accommodating is unassertive and cooperative—the complete opposite of competing. When accommodating, the individual neglects his own concerns to satisfy the concerns of the other person. 3. Avoiding is unassertive and uncooperative—the person neither pursues his own concerns nor those of the other individual. 4. Collaborating is both assertive and cooperative—the complete opposite of avoiding. Collaborating involves an attempt to work with others to find some solution that fully satisfies their concerns. 5. Compromising is moderate in both assertiveness and cooperativeness. The objective is to find some expedient, mutually acceptable solution that partially satisfies both parties. In some situations, compromising might mean splitting the difference between the two positions, exchanging concessions, or seeking a quick middle-ground
Karl Marx, a ground breaking sociologist, economist, and philosopher, lived from 1818 to 1883. During his lifetime he propounded this epic sociologic perspective, the conflict theory. (McClelland) The conflict theory discusses how the rich and the poor have been fighting ongoing battle for power. The group in control actively defends their advantages.
Conflicts are challenges faced by people, which in turn helps them to succeed in their lives. In the novel The First Stone by Don Aker, Chad Kennedy faces different types of conflict that lead to positive personal growth. Chad was unable to cope with the death of his grandmother. His depression and anxiety led him to be unkind towards others.
By utuilizing this method of conflict resolution it makes my job easier in some instances. Given that I work in a quasi military environment and hold a position of command, this tends to be quick solution to problems in some instances. However, at times, compromising and collaboration work as an alternative method of conflict resolution. This is especially true when it involves working with other police departments on county wide projects and iniatives. These styles often times produce the best results because it allows for the best of all agencies to be incorporated into the
Abortion refers to the termination of a pregnancy by removing or taking out the fetus or embryo from the uterus prematurely or before it is ready for birth. There are two major forms of abortion: spontaneous, which is often referred to as a miscarriage and as the name suggests is unintentional or the purposeful abortion, which is most often abortion induced by medication or other such ways. The term abortion is commonly used to refer to the induced abortion, and this is the particular abortion, which has been filled with controversy. In developed nations, induced abortions are the most dependable and trustworthy form of medical procedures in medicine if it is performed under the auspices of the local law. Thus, abortions are possibly the most
1. The two sociological perspectives that I will be writing about are conflict theory and symbolic interactionism. There are two conflict theories of a social problem Marxist Conflict theory and Non-Marxist Conflict theory. The importance of using social perspective when studying the Marxist and Non-Marxist conflict theories allows individuals a better understanding of the conflicts we face in average life such as class inequality, alienation, and conflicts in competing values in social groups.
Conflict theory is everywhere I look within American; the country was born and thrives on conflict theory. This is something I have felt strong about for years. After doing some reading, the cross correlation between the three is amazing. However, I feel we have an extensive amount of Conflict Theory in society

Conflict is a common topic in many aspects of life. In history, literature, and day-to-day experiences, you can see conflict around you. There are a few
“All conflict in literature is, in its simplest form, a struggle between good and evil.” - Anon. You may not realize this, however this quote is surprisingly true. An example of this can be found in the novel, “Before We Were Free” by Julia Alvarez, where the protagonist Anita, is living with her family in the Dominican Republic lead by El Jefe, the antagonist. Throughout the novel, several conflicts occur between Anita (and her family) and El Jefe.
Whilst conflict is inevitable Harding provides insight in describing conflict “as the beginning of consciousness”. Realistic group conflict theory (RGCT) offers a behavioural approach to conflict resolution demonstrated in Sheriff Robert Cave’s experiment. RGCT asserts that a real or imagined threat to one’s group interest often leads to conflict. Initially the situation presented with a competitive edge as the groups clamoured for the scarce resource .
Conflict resolution as a field of study as indicated has formed hypothetical bits of knowledge into the nature and source of conflict and how conflicts can be resolved through peaceful systems to effectuate a dependable settlement. Morton Deutsch, was the first to form and understanding into the helpful results of collaboration as a scholastic enquiry. In his view, various variables like the way of the debate and the objectives every group in a conflict goes for are crucial in deciding the sort of introduction a group would convey to the negotiation table in its endeavor to unravel the conflict (Morton Deucth, 1985, p.24). To him, two essential orientations do exist. These are competitive and cooperative.

Social conflict theory sees social life as a competition and focuses on the distribution of resources, power, and inequality. Social conflict theory is a macro-oriented paradigm in sociology that views society as an arena of inequality that generates conflict and social change.
Conflicts will arise when individual compete for power or authority and most importantly, resources which are limited.
In the following, I will use the conflict theory, which operates on the macro-level, as well as the symbolic interactionist theory, which focuses on the micro-scale of society, to explain the influence of globalization and the associated phenomena of inequality and conflict on the individual and society. The conflict theory approaches society on the macro-level. It was established by Karl Marx, who believed that social conflict stands at the center of sociocultural realities. His evolutionary theory came to be known as one of the most significant early contributions to sociology. Marx emphasizes the idea that “society is based on the struggle for scarce resources” (Module 1, 2015) and asserts that inequality and unequal conditions set forth forces that may end in conflict, which in turn contributes to change.
The violent conflict approach is defined through coercion, threats, and destructive assaults. Galtung’s, model suggests that each of these components influence one another, and while each
