In the book, Theodore Boone The Fugitive, the main character 's name is Theodore. Theodore is brave, smart, courageous, and funny. His main intention during the story is to put a murderer, Pete Duffy, behind bars. Some devices used by the author are metaphors, personifications, and similes. The other book, The House of Hades, has a main character named Percy.

The book is about a boy named Francisco and his family are immigrants from Mexico. The family comes to the United States to work to support the family. The family is poor so they have to send Francisco, his older brother Roberto, and Papa to work. While Francisco and Roberto have to go to school. One day the family gets sent back to Mexico but Francisco and Roberto stay for school.

Daniel Boone was born on November 2, 1743. He was basically the man of all men, qualifying himself as a American pioneer, explorer, woodsman, and frontiersman. Just to prove how incredible this man is, he’s like bear grills on steroids (bear grills might have been on steroids). Daniel Boone was born to a Quaker family who were prosecuted in England for their beliefs. Daniel’s father moved from England to Pennsylvania In 1713 to join William Penn’s colony of dissenters as they were called.

One of my favorite things about this book is that it is based on a true crime and at the end of the book there is the kid’s poem about Christopher which is very touching. The book had many good parts to it. The only thing I didn’t like about this is that it actually was based on a true story, and it’s sad to learn that the nice kid was murdered. Another favorite part of mine was when Doc, Hunger, Mildred, Squib and Hazel went on a mission to dump a barrel of animal poop on a guy’s car, which Doc and Hunger did all the work and they even dumped some inside the car. “Now, let’s shake it.

The book, “Celia, A Slave,” is a true story written by Melton A. McLaurin and published by the University of Georgia Press in 1991. McLaurin was an educator at the University of South Alabama where he served several years as Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs before retiring. He is known for writing several articles and books about the American South and race relations. He wrote this book specifically about slavery and how women and men or blacks and whites were divided. Whites were superior in the United States.

How would you feel if you and your family were denied the opportunity to a better life or had to wait years for one? The immigrants goal is to strive for a better future for themselves and their family. Coming here will help them achieve that goal. You may be thinking why cant they have a good future where they live? In some cases, the country they live in could be poor, not have many schools, is not safe, etc.

An immigrant family wants the best for everyone lives, however moving to a new country brings struggles. There struggles include finding a home, a good paying job, avoiding to be deported, being separated ,and continuing their education. Immigrants expect a better life because their old home and country did have much benefits as the new country gives them. The advantage of an immigrant family is family values which tends them to be closer. Disadvantages of an immigrant family are the struggles that were first mentioned and including that they face other people calling them a threat.

First, Immigrants migrated with the idea of the united States having a better life for them. Document D gives us an idea of the benefits an immigrant believed were true. The idea of no oppressive taxes, no kings, no compulsory military service, and no dungeons gave relief. All the troubles from their homelands would not be present in the Land of Opportunity. Taking a chance for a better life was the only option left.

Possibly Reason #3 and Evidence The last reason stated is that Children have hope for a better life and future ahead. Surprisingly, 5.3 million of these children are living with unauthorized parents. And these children usually get a high school or college degree, but can’t get a job because of the scare of being deported. “ More than half the undocumented immigrant population has a high school diploma or higher.”

Living in a potent economic country, immigrants like us have found more chances of employment from low skilled level to professional level with increased salary. We can get better pay compared to what we can get in our country. The dollar value is also much higher and more stable than many other countries’ currency which gives us a chance to support relatives still residing back in our native land. Finally, we come to the United States because we have our families already residing here and we desire to be reunited with them.

It is part of human nature to strive to go further, achieve more and become a better person. Many people nowadays decide to leave their country in search for a better life in order to provide positive changes for their future, and that is the main reason as to why people migrate. Reasons for immigration can include lack of educational opportunities, the standard of living is not being high enough, or the low value of wages. Immigration has become a major part of life in the 20th century, and many people see America as the land of freedom, countless opportunities and thus they choose to migrate to the United States whether as naturalized citizens, legal permanent residents, refugees, international students, or even undocumented immigrants.
