He did this by including congress, and executing their orders even when he disagreed with them He did this to avoid total control, he actioned his tactics based off the decisions of the appointed officials, for the people. These orders were not inclusive just to fighting the war, but to administrative things such as paying the troops, housing them, and even selecting his officers. Washington did not have total control of his military. Washington’s resignation as the General Commander in chief, validated his recognition of civilian control over the military.
General Washington displayed a great deal of ethical leadership, and could be considered the father of ethical leadership in the united states. He demanded control by the people, and respect for each other. He established the foundation of the military’s moral ethical leadership that is seen today. For example, Washington demanded that if Soldiers needed to forge for food that they chow civilians the utmost respect, if not there would be harsh penalties. In the book of His Excellency: George Washington by Joseph J. Ellis, the author introduces Washington, the Father of the United States, in a fresh portrait focused on the characters of Washington. This book is an impressive biography of Washington's remarkable dedication to the United States history. According to the author, George Washington is an omnipresent figure as he was growing up, described as the man in the moon who was aloof and silent. This book focuses on Washington's wartime service which became some of his major contributions to the United States, rather than merely telling the true story of Washington, its main thesis is focusing on analyzing his contributions and how his governorship had affected the American history. Washington's life is divided into three areas in this book.
Under article 2 section 2 of the constitution of the United states of America, the president of the United States is given the role of commander-in-chief. The role of commander-in-chief makes the president of the United States the supreme military leader of the armed forces and states militia, under any threat to the union, the president has the power to control the military's response. In the years of their presidency, presidents Abraham Lincoln and George Washington experienced rebellions that led to the presidents having to make vital decisions on the level of involvement of the military. Decisions made by these presidents helped shape the presidential powers, the nation, and their future legacy. George Washington, a founding father and the first president of the United States, experienced

Washington was a genius on the battlefield and came up with helpful tactics. He also obtained the ability to keep his struggling army together. Washington not only lead his army, but guided, directed and motivated them to persevere and keep going.
George Washington was indispensable in launching the U.S government. Although many opposed his political views at the time, Washington's leadership capabilities were unquestionable after his victory in the American Revolution. Our victory over Great Britain would have been doubtful if not for Washington and his judgement. Before becoming president, Washington led in drafting the Constitution, which is the foundation of America. When he became president, Washington believed in unity and a strong central power.
Thomas Jefferson Thomas Jefferson was a founding father of our nation. In a time of turmoil and tyranny, Jefferson freed our country from the rule of British Parliament, expanded our boundaries, and unarguably laid the economic foundation for our country by opening trade in the west. Jefferson, a patriot was a Visionary Leader with the betterment of the country in mind when seeking an exploration west. He was an Ethical Leader when freeing the people from an oppressive monarchy, and laying the foundation for civil rights by attempting to end slavery.
No American today could imagine a country without a president, or without Washington, because if the patriots had not had George who was “…determined…to cross the river & make the attack upon Trenton…” (Washington), the United States of America would not even exist. George Washington was born on February 22, 1732 in Virginia (Knott). Washington never got beyond elementary school, however due to a skill in math, got a job with Lord Fairfax, a powerful businessman (Knott). After inheriting Mount Vernon because of his brother’s death, Washington joined the British Army (Knott).

One of our greatest leaders was George Washington who was one of the many curtail reasons for the Independence, due to his skills, strategy, and knowledge of the terrain. To win the war Washington had to have many different war skills, due to his 40 years of service he was able to accomplish this. He had also proven his skills and knowledge in many different wars. He also knew many different strategies, considering how many battles he was in Washington probably picked up some of their strategies and tweaked them a bit, while also having some of his own strategies. On June 15, 1775, the delegates of the Continental Congress unanimously elected George Washington to command all the continental forces.
George Washington was a great leader. “He respected all his men and listen to their ideas one by one.” This makes happy his men to be treated with respect to be listening. They feel like humans. Doing this make people want to work that help run well the United States.
Throughout the many periods of history, there have been many great leaders in the United States, such as the presidents and many reformers of movements. These powerful and courageous people led to many changes within the nation that better the country. Great men exist regardless of the time period or region they live in, but history tends to only recognize them and highlight their contributions to society during a time of crisis. However, great men begin as regular men, but they must work their way through a social status rank in order to be deemed as credible. One of the most widely known leaders of the United States is the first president, George Washington who served from 1789 to 1797.
The leadership and legacy of Ulysses S Grant Ulysses was born on April 27, 1822 and died on July 23, 1885. He was born in Point Pleasant, Ohio. Ulysses helped America win the Civil War and stop slavery. An interesting fact about Ulysses S. Grant was that his real name was Hiram Ulysses Grant. This war contributor was important to America because without him leading us in war it is possible that we would have lost the war which could cause us to still have slaves today.
The American revolution is one of the most important events in American history. It had taken millions to make this happen, including General Washington. Washington was an outstanding general to had brought hope into the minds of his people in a time of despair. Inexperienced in running such a huge army he made the impossible, possible. He had led his army through the crucial weather, disease and several hardships.
Leadership Traits in Dead Poet’s Society Movie “Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary” (Horace) Given that leadership is ability to influence a group toward achievement of goals (Colquitt, Lepine & Wesson, 2015), it is undeniably clear that Mr. Keating in “Dead Poet’s Society” was an absolute leader and charismatic influencer. Even though, “Dead Poet’s Society” brings up different topics such as traditions, discipline and freedom of choice, in today’s paper I am going to discuss leadership and its effects on job performance.
