Whenever I take on an assignment, whether it is school or work related or anything else for that matter, I always put my heart and soul to it. Many of my friends and teachers would call me over-ambitious, but I do not see that as a negative designation. Something I have learned through experience is that if you want something, you have to work for it. Going to an elementary school with a history of royal children attending, such as our crown Princess Victoria, as well as many talented students, put a lot of pressure on me to succeed. I managed to graduate with straight A’s, and received a scholarship for “excellent study results”, something I am very proud of and still value highly. That is the reason why I am choosing Journalism as my first choice to major in. New York has a special place in my heart, and I would return in a heartbeat if I got the chance. Attending this summer course would be a dream to me, to spend the summer in an amazing city full of life and opportunities, learn about subjects I truly am interested in and will have good use for. Meeting new people from different countries and cultures will make me grow and mature as a person and getting out of my comfort zone is exactly what I need. Some might think attending a college in a country where I don’t speak the native language is a poor idea, but I would say the exact opposite. I want to expand my vocabulary and fluency in English because I think it will be a great advantage in the adulthood. I am a big language lover and apart from my native language, Swedish, I am able to speak both French and Spanish on a conversational level, so being fluent in two languages would mean a lot to
