Why I Want To Study Journalism

The National Honor Society (NHS) is a notoriously prestigious organization, and it is possibly one of the greatest honors a student can earn in their high school career. Becoming a member of the NHS can open many doors for students, including leadership experience and opportunities for college scholarships. Admission for this program is based on certain ideals. The criteria for admission-scholarship, service, character, and leadership-are four areas in which, at least I believe, I excel. Even when I was a young child, I was very concerned with school.

The pinnacle experience of my life so far occurred at the end of my junior year. I stood onstage and held my breath as I reveled in the surrealness of the moment. For everyone else on stage, their dreams since freshman year were coming true. However, I had not dared dream of such an event. My predecessor attached the pin to my blazer and just like that, it was official.

The standards of a Sterling Scholar, scholarship, citizenship and leadership have been exemplified in the way I have conducted my life through the following examples. I have never really excelled in academics. I believe learning the information is far more important than getting a good grade. Math, Science, and English are not my strong suits, but I’ve always loved working with computers. From a young age I’ve always been fascinated with technology and how it helps us advance as a society.

In my early years I was chased by a pit bull, I was born on Dec. 7 1999, and I got my brother a scare while we were playing wrestling. When I was at my grandma`s house with some friends while we were chased by a pit bull because they escaped from the neighbor`s house. I was born on Dec. 7 1999 on Ponce, Puerto Rico. Initially, my entire high school career, I have worked exceedingly with every activity that I have done. In this case, maintaining a 3.6 GPA and ranking 14 out of 122 of my classmates has shown my commitment to my education. As a child I always desired to study math and science. There is just something about solving problems, and finding solutions that catches my attention. Learning about the world, and how it function is very interesting to me. These subjects have help keep me wondering what I could learn next, and the reason being that I am a scholar in my classes. One accomplishment that I am proud of is being on the A&B honor roll.

The MSN in education is something I have passionate about for a long time now. The MSN from Benedictine University will help me reach my goal as being a more well-rounded, devoted professional nurse. I am very motivated and driven to be very successful in life. I always plan ahead and always looking for a way to better myself professionally. All of my life I have always tried to be the best prepared professional so I can have a career for the rest of my life that I can be proud of.

Middle school is a very different time, a time to start discovering yourself. Many people figure out what makes them truly happy, or what they want to do with their life during this time. It’s also the road to high school, the last stop of your standard American education. As a middle school graduate, I’ve dealt with all the ups and downs, all the A+’s and the C-’s, all the old and new friends, and all the choosing of classes. Electives are the time to have something you enjoy in school, to pick what makes you happy, but also what will help you later.

Starting will scholarship, I have displayed this by maintaining the 93% grade average needed to get me to this point in this organization. I intend to keep my grades above that 93% and further my education in school and at home. While leadership is not always my best

I have never been a perfect student. I have had many shortcomings and struggles throughout my middle school years. Regardless of that, I’ve always tried to be the best student I could be. The thing that got me into trying even harder to maintain my grades was not my parents, but the stress that I had piled onto myself. Yes, my parents wanted me to achieve excellent grades, but it was mostly me who put the pressure on myself.

Attending college wasn’t an obligation of mine but a choice that I took. My reasons are probably just like everyone else’s at my age. I wanted a better life for myself in the future that didn’t involve living paycheck by paycheck. Obtaining a college degree has such a strong influence on one’s life. College has been a dream of mine since I was little.

I always give my absolute best and apply myself wholeheartedly. I have learned that trials produce perseverance and endurance. It is essential to be determined and I will keep striving to be the best I can be. I have proven I can excel academically while having an academic load and I handle obstacles with a positive outlook.

It is important to study something in school that you enjoy but that is also useful in the real world. I have always been asked, “what's your major?”. I would answer art history and always got a response like, “what are you going to do with that?”. Most parents and students don’t feel that there is a good foundation from learning Art History. It is often heard from high school and college students (influenced by their parents) that to succeed you must major in science, technology, engineering, or business.

Why taking a second language can be helpful Learning a second language has many lifelong beneficial other than just understanding the language itself, mainly if learned at a young age. Learning a second language can be done more efficiently as a young kid, and can open up many doors for later in life while being mentally advanced. When it comes to learning a second language, the younger you start the easier you will begin to learn your second language. Younger brains learn much easier than older brains because the brain is designed for language learning to take place between birth and adolescence (the period following the onset of puberty during which a young person develops from a child into an adult).
