I am writing to thank you for generosity for HCZ Endowed scholarship. By me receiving this scholarship, you have helped enlighten some of my financial situation to help me continue my education here at Walsh University. By receiving this scholarship, I am most appreciative, and thankful for receiving it. I am a senior who is looking forward to graduating this spring from Walsh University with a degree in corporate communications and a minor in marketing. My plans after graduation is to work for a company in sales and in the advertisement field.

I firmly believe that i deserve this award granted by the Courage to Grow Scholarship. Education is greatly important to me and my future. No one in my family has ever attended college and I know that I can change that. I may come from a poor family but it is my goal to be successful in the career i choose.

Opportunities like this scholarship only come in a lifetime, so being able to partake in it, is such an honor. I truly contemplate that I’m qualified for this scholarship because of my past academic accomplishments and flexible upcoming goals. The day I learned about college, I generated a goal: attend a 4-year university and receive my Bachelor’s Degree of Science. I knew that my goals were not just going to be given to myself, so I started working firmly for them.

Mind you one year ago I possessed not one single plan on going to college. I am finally ready to face my fear of the real world and get my foot in the door. By receiving this scholarship, I have that extra nudge of “you’ve got this” and additional reassurance that I have never developed until now, and I am confident to make everyone surrounding me

I sincerely would love to be a part of the computer science program here at Texas A&M University and feel qualified with my background in computers and various programming languages. I have been working to be the best student I can for this program by participating in coding activities and competitions like Hack TAMU, Hack Texas, Code Red, and some others. Along with that, I have been attending informative seminars like the Google Tech Talks and Resume Workshops hosted here at A&M to learn and help pursue my career related goals in the future. I have overcome difficult challenges in my pursuit of education. I fell behind on my credits, which was the hardest situation to pull myself up from. I caught up and past my colleagues. I am more than ready to further expand my education beyond graduating high school. I am striving to make myself rise above the rest.

In fifteen years, meeting my old classmates again, not one of them will be surprised by me. I will tell them that I have accomplished the world. When asked to explain, they will be disappointed when I tell them stories that appear minuscule in the scheme of things. I will have touched lives. It is my altruism that will define who I become.
