‘’This is my body’’ a phrase used by many women throughout the world. Human happiness and fulfillment are never found by us pushing others out of the way, rather it is found when we push ourselves out of the way for others. From the moment of conception, an unborn baby is a distinct person made in the image and likeness of God. God forms a person in the womb, not a nonperson (Job 10:8-12; 31:15, 34:19). “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. (Jeremiah 1: 4-5). Brephos, is used to describe an unborn baby inside the womb as is used to describe a person out of the womb. When it comes to abortion, I stand firm in the Divine Command Theory, in the 6th commandment God commands us not to kill. For one day …show more content…
An abortion is a procedure to end a pregnancy. It uses medicine or surgery to remove the embryo or fetus and placenta from the uterus. The procedure is done by a licensed health care professional (NIH, national library of medicine). When we the people legalize abortion, the killing of unborn babies we are saying: people are allowed on this planet only when their presence does not inconvenience those who rule their lives. I think of the Greatest Happiness Theory, doing the things that create the greatest happiness to the greatest number. So then what happens when a woman has an abortion? Is that the happiness of a larger amount of people or just the mother alone? We say that killing is wrong, it is a law in our government and society not to kill. Yet where are the rights then for a child that is living in a mother’s womb? During the time where the Emancipation of Proclamation was taking place, Lincoln had a discussion with his cabinet. He asked: ‘’Gentlemen, how many legs does a sheep have?” Each man answered correctly, “Four, Mr. President.” He then proceeded saying, “Let’s call his tail a leg. Now how many legs?” Each man replied, “Five, Mr. President.” Mr. Lincoln retorted, “Nope, still only four. Just because we call it a leg it doesn’t make it one.” Abortion works that way as we say that they are not humans fully developed and have no rights. So are we categorizing fetuses as “sub-humans”? Today, history is now being repeated, just with a different circumstance. I think about Hitler when I think about abortion. Hitler’s diabolical ideal is gaining momentum, and once again innocent lives are the sacrifice that it demands. Many children have been categorized as “subhuman”, and sentenced to die horrible deaths that surpass even the most brutal methods of destruction like the Nazis did to the Jews. Many people would argue that what if the child comes out handicapped or retarded? We go back in history and see that Hitler killed many people that had these symptoms and diseases. Yet did they deserve such deaths, did they not deserve a right to live? One must ask themselves, “Would you have killed those children if Hitler told you to?” When Jesus gave up his life, he taught us the meaning of love: I sacrifice myself for the good of the other person (John 15:13). Abortion teaches and advocates the opposite of love: I sacrifice the other person for the good of myself and what I
To me Abortion is simply murder. The killing of an innocent human being is wrong, even if that human being has yet to be born. Unborn babies are considered human beings by the US government. The federal Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which was enacted "to protect unborn children from assault and murder," states that under federal law, anybody intentionally killing or attempting to kill an unborn child should “be punished...
Daily Inventory #4 In his article, “Abortion is Murder”, Dan Ridge argues that people focus on children that are born and do not focus on those who are in the womb. Ridge supports his argument by saying that an unborn baby in the womb is still a child, has a unique DNA, and that he or she should be valued as a human being. His purpose is to tell people that getting an abortion is wrong because you are still killing a human being in order to get people to think about the life they are carrying in their womb before having an abortion.
A. Each one of us should not submit to, perform, encourage, pay for, or arrange such abortions. III. The word abortion by definition means the ending of pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus. IV. Abortion, without a doubt, is an extremely controversial issue nowadays because although some people including me are totally against it, others believe that a woman should have the right to choose.
Three thousand three hundred and twenty two abortions happen everyday world wide. Abortion is the termination of a human pregnancy, performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Abortions have already been and will probably always be a controversial topic where everyone won 't agree upon. Terminating a child because of selfish reasons, most people have sex without condoms, get pregnant and can’t deal with the consequences of having a child. Abortion views are broken into two groups pro-life and pro-choice.
According to the WHO, there are an estimated 40-50 million abortions every year around the globe. The dictionary definition for abortion is ‘the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy’, and people usually very absolutist about their stances regarding this topic. The two sides of the argument are those who are pro-choice or pro-life. The pro-choice side argue that it is the free will of the parent/s to decide on how to handle the pregnancy as unplanned pregnancies could mean a detrimental life for both the parent/s and the baby as the parent/s may not have the resources to support and take care of the baby, or are not ready for such big change and responsibility. On the other hand, the pro-life side argue that life begins at conception
Abortion is just a technical way of saying the murder of a unborn and should be abolished. Abortion is murder. According to lifenews.com, federal law prohibits the death penalty for a pregnant women until after the child is born. (18 U.S.C.A.S.3596). Doing this means according to the law, a innocent unborn infant cannot be sentenced to death for a crime he/she did not commit.
For example, if there is a complication in pregnancy and the mother can suffer because of the child, I think it is ok to do abortion. It is important to understand the various ideas that go behind abortion. The right of an abortion for a mother should be left on her own decision as the mother knows best about her condition. She is going to be the 'host body ' for the baby, even though her own, for nine months and according to Thompson, the mother should have the right to decide if she wants to foster and go through with the ordeal. But still, there are also a strong debate going on about the human rights of the child:
The loss of life is a great lose one can suffer from. The loss of life deprives the individual from experiences, projects, activities and enjoyments that would have been part of his/her future. So killing is wrong because it deprives the individual from his future. Therefore abortion is impermissible because it will deprive the fetus from his/her future. Third reason why abortion is impermissible is because it punishes the innocent fetus.
Abortion Abortion is the ending of pregnancy by abolishing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus. Abortion is a very controversial topic, for example, one side of this topic believes abortion is cruel and committing murder, while the other side believes that since the fetus or embryo isn 't developed enough to be considered a living human being yet, that abortion is not commiting murder. Despite this information, there is a lot more to abortion than the opinion of it being “right” or “wrong”. According to “Students for life” who are pro life, about 1 million abortions are executed each year in the US. That data adds up to 22% of pregnancies ending in abortion.
One of the furthermost essential issues in biomedical ethics is the controversy around abortion. There’s a long history on this controversy and it is still critically debated among researchers and the public in both terms of morality and legality. Some of the basic questions argued that may perhaps characterize the importance of the issue: Is abortion morally justifiable? Does the foetus/embryo/zygote have any moral and legal rights? Is the foetus a human being and, if so, should it be protected?
Abortion is murder. The killing of a innocent human being is wrong . i don 't think abortion is right i think it s really wrong .Whether than getting a abortions you should think about putting your baby up for adoption. Also,At least 38 states have passed similar fetal homicide laws.
Some people think women use abortions as an escape from their wrong behavior and careless decisions in life and Some people believe that having an abortion and ending a child’s life will solve their problems but in reality, abortion only hides problems it doesn’t solve them. There is always a solution in every problem, choosing abortion and denying life to a child who already exists is irresponsibly and irreparably wrong. How sad for those who think a child is not worth anything. Children
‘Abortion’ is ending of the pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo from the womb before it can survive on its own. This can occur either spontaneously or due to human intervention. When an abortion is caused purposely, then it is called an induced abortion. When it happens due to natural causes, it is a spontaneous abortion. Although the term ‘abortion’ implies a premature termination of pregnancy for any reason, the layman better understands the word ‘miscarriage’ for involuntary fetal loss.
(Tanner) Pro-choice defenders also say that it is the woman 's right to choose to have the baby or not, forgetting the baby 's rights. The life of a human being begins at the moment of conception, and it is not the fetus´s fault if the mother wasn 't ready to have a baby or if the situation in which baby was conceived wasn 't ideal. For example, if the baby is conceived by rape, the baby should not pay the consequences of other people, he or she has not done anything wrong .”Compassion for the mothers is extremely important, but it is never
Never mind the morality of abortion, even the health risks are unbelievable. When a woman receives an abortion she runs a 65 percent higher risk of clinical depression and 160 percent more likely to be hospitalized for psychiatric treatment. Abortions create more complications than going full term with a
