The start of the book details begins with a group of people on their way to the mysterious Indian Island.The group contains Justice Wargrave, Vera Claythorne, Philip Lombard, Emily Brent, General Macarthur, Dr. Armstrong, Anthony Marston, and Mr. Blore. Each of the guest have different reasons for going, some were hired while other are going to see friends. The group of guest are all ferried to the island by Fred Narracott. The guest are greeted by the butler and his wife, Mr and Mrs Rogers, who tell them that their host, Mr. and Mrs. Owens, are delayed. The group is bewildered that none of the people they were going to meet are there. In each room of the house there is the nursery rhyme the Ten Little Indians. After dinner a record begins to play accusing every member of the guests and staff of murder. This causes Mrs. Rogers to faint. The guest gather together to try to figure out who Mr.owen is. During this it is revealed that Mr.davis’s real name is Blore and he was hired to watch after Mrs. Owens jewels.
